There is no relationship with the hours on your clock. Using hours just makes the units manageable. The kilowatt-hour unit of measurement has been around since the beginning of electrical distribution.
Using a 1000 watt device for 15 minutes will still rack up usage on your electric meter. 1 kW x .25 hours = .25 kWh.
Think of the kWh register on electric meter as the odometer on your car. The more you drive during the month, and the faster you drive, the more miles you rack up. Same goes for the electric meter. The more electricty you consume, the greater the kWh usage.

A unit of electric energy equal to the work done by one kilowatt acting for one hour is the kilowatt hour or kwh. If you turn on a 1000 watt load for one hour, your power meter will indicate a change of 1 kwh, If you have a 200 watt load for 5 hours, your meter will indicate a 1 kwh change.

Electric meter measures Electrical Energy consumed
in the Electrical circuit.
Electrical Energy Consumed = Electric Power Consumed x time
By definition , suppose if you consume 1 KW of power
for one hour (60 minutes) then you are said to be consumed 1 KiloWatt Hour.
The "hour" represents time factor in the equation and your clock also measures time elapsed ..so thats the relation!

The problem is it combines both kilowatts that u use for an hour. The two are multiplied together . If the KW increase u could get a 1 KW hour in 30 min.

kwh is a product of kilowatt and hour,giving you the energy you have used over time. kilowatt =1000 x watts.
1 watt=1joule/second.So 1 kwh=1000j/s x hour.
1 hour=60minutes=60 x 60seconds.
So 1kwh=[1000j/s ] x [60 x 60s] =3600000joules of Energy,
in this case electrical energy you consumed in your home.
The hour on your clock is just a measure of some time interval from time =0 second and increasing into minutes,and finally into one hour.
