in a series circuit, what would be the current and power if the battery is 1.5 V and the bulbs have a resistance of .5? what about a parallel circuit?

does any part of a circuit (for an electromagnet) have a resistance? if so, what is it? what item in your house may be wired the same as an electromagnet?

I am in my third year of college and I am going to school for an EE degree. I am always repairing and designing of all types of electrical circuits. I am also a live sound engineer and network administrator. For the past ten years or so I have been using my fathers old analog multimeter but I think that it is time that i invest in a new one. I have done some searching and I like the ones that can connect to the computer to log information. I want something that I can use for the rest of my life. Features are nice but low price is also a nice thing because I am a starving college student. Since this is something I plan to use for the rest of my life, I dont mind spending a little extra though.

Does anyone have any suggestions on SPECIFIC products?

Hello I'm doing plumbing for ahouse thats only being used infrequently, and figuring I will need to prime all the traps except water closets? Seems the standard automatic primers out there need the water supply to be in use for them to operate, what products are out there for this type of situation where nothing in the house will get used for long periods of time?

I read in a book that passing current through a coiled wire with an electric wire with an iron core creates an electromagnet.
When I tried this and inserted the two loose ends of the wire into an AC 230 V Outlet, it got short-circuited . So how am I supposed to create this electromagnet ?

In my book it states that the ground is the return path to complete the circuit. The ground is attached to the negative terminal of a battery right? Current flows from the negative terminal to the positive terminal but why is a ground called the return path if current flows in the opposite direction? When looking at a schematic the current begins flowing from the ground right?

There is a station that is about 75 miles away (as the crow flies) that I would like to be able to listen to in my home. The station frequency is 89.3, if that is of any consequence. I know that having a higher quality radio would help and currently I only have cheap radios in the house. I have also heard that I can make a homemade antenna with a specific length that would be optimized for the frequency of my choice. So, my question is, Is a homemade antenna coupled with a good quality radio going to do a good job of bringing in a fm signal from 75 miles away? Any other suggestions to accomplish this? Thanks!

Hello, First Timer Here.

I would like to know, how much power, whether it be in horsepower or other, do I need to move a car or start movement on car. I'm brainstorming an idea for an electric car. I'm trying to find out how much horsepower (motors) do I need to start to move a car and then work my way up to speed.

Thank you.
