if the illumination of an object is directly proportional to the strength of its ligth source and inversly proportional to the square of the distance in between it and that particular ligth source then find out the formula that would calculate the amount of illumination on an object that is between two lamps , one twice as strong(brigth) as the other and the distance between them is 40 m .
then find out what would be the darkest position between those two lamps?

p.s its not reall an engineering question but if your in the faculty of engineering id assume its easy for you

Does anyone know of any freeware or shareware that sizes lumber, whether dimensional or engineered, such as LVL. I can do the statics and load calculations, but it takes time to size the lumber. So is there any free or relatively inexpensive software that people can recommend that I can enter the loads and it will size the lumber? Also steel. This is for residential design. I like to design for steel beams in the foundation, but limit framing members to wood products, dimensional or engineered.

The NIST has not fully disclosed its computer models and its assumptions about the collapse of three steel framed buildings at the NYC WTC on 9/11/2001. The evidence analyzed by Professor Steven Jones of BYU suggests that the buildings must have been demolished.

Why do we not have a comprehensive model for the collapse?

http://stj911.org/press_releases/blueprints.html

By the way... The often quoted Popular Mechanics article does not provide a reasonable model of the collapse of any kind.
