Given the random processes that exist in nature and the huge time spans that have taken place, I question the assertion. Simply because we cannot understand how something works does not make it too complex for it to have occurred through evolutionary processes.

according to the bible, God has warehouses filled with snow, and when he feels like it, he shovels some out on us. that seems pretty simple to me, it does not describe a super intelligent being.
according to a thermodynamics scientist, snow making involves temperatures, enthalpy, phase changes, terminal velocity all strung together in a very complex sequence. does this complexity make the scientist more intelligent than God?
and what about the ski resort manager. he just pushes water through a nozzle on a cold day and makes all the snow he needs without knowledge of science or help of God.
to my way of thinking, it is simplicity that is the hallmark of both God and good science. complex things only appear that way because we do not have a proper understanding of how they work. try understanding planet motion without "keplers" laws, and there is no question of where that inspiration came from.
