im trying to gather a list of materials that can be used in different structures to insulate sounds, and sound waves. (i.e. speaker box, recording studios, & recording booths) i need to keep the interior sounds inside the structure and also all the exterior sounds outside. im really interested in finding pros and cons of each material. so i can determine the best material for each project
and projected cost. any info is greatly appreciated. if someone knows a website i can go to that would be truly helpful. thanks in advance

A guy wire of length 50 feet is attached to the ground and to the top of an antenna. The height of the antenna is 10 feet larger than the distance from the base of the antenna to the point where the guy wire is attached to the ground. What is the height of the antenna?

I'm wondering on the basis of did you really enjoy math and physics when you were high school and if that's why you chose to go into engineering?

It's tough because I like the sciences and I like math, but I don't love them! And I don't excel in them either! I think physics I got an 82-83 and math I got an 85?
I'm doing calculus now too, it's ok
I like science and math but I dont love them! I just do good in it because I choose to do well and because I want to get onto honor roll and get free food at the end of the year haha but still!!!?

Anyway my main question is:

What made you go into engineering?
Was it your great and undying love for math and physics? DESTINY?

Hi, if you had an empty lot on which to cost- effectively build from scratch a rehearsal complex of 10 15x20 ft spaces, what materials and methods would you chose for walls, floor and ceilings?

Could you make a cost per sq ft estimate?
Thanks

Thanks!
Alan

Hey, i was wondering if a flat battery (the types which are used in remote controls etc) would charge if left in sunlight. Also, what does 'trickle charge' mean, i've seen it written on my battery charger, but i don't know what it means. Thanks in advance!

I've been working on this for a while now and I'm sick of it so I figured its time to ask real people...
I'm building a diode bridge to convert ac current to dc current for a rechargeable flashlight. I am connecting a magnet tube wound with magnet wire to the ac + and - and I have a capacitor connected to the + and - side of the dc

I am using this image here
http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/2/29/Diodebridge2.png
to figure out how to connect the bridge. I have hooked this up to a Voltimeter and when I hook the dc to the - and + and shake it to generate current I still get some - current when I shake it and I also get some ac where the dc is. what is wrong?
please help me
and if it helps you I am using an 1n4007 diode and a Aerogel Super Capacitor
