I'm wondering on the basis of did you really enjoy math and physics when you were high school and if that's why you chose to go into engineering?

It's tough because I like the sciences and I like math, but I don't love them! And I don't excel in them either! I think physics I got an 82-83 and math I got an 85?
I'm doing calculus now too, it's ok
I like science and math but I dont love them! I just do good in it because I choose to do well and because I want to get onto honor roll and get free food at the end of the year haha but still!!!?

Anyway my main question is:

What made you go into engineering?
Was it your great and undying love for math and physics? DESTINY?

About the third answer
First year you just do general stuff, second you can specialize.. I was thinking biomedical or chemical since it involves bio or chem which I like too.

Long story... I chose engr. because I originally had suddenly decided not to go into music, it was a good-paying job with good benefits where you can think outside the box and get paid for it, and someone told me that women don't go into engineering. Also, my worst subject was math, and I decided that if I could succeed in something I sucked at, I could succeed in anything!

Now, I love engineering! Who else gets paid to sit around and run computer programs, color pictures, travel to countries around the world, and solve problems? There's so much you can do with a degree in engineering... there are engineers who design the water, air, and electricity systems in buildings (that's what I do), engineers who work for Disney and design the newest rollercoasters.... you name it, and it needs an engineer to fix it.

Other cool things you can do with engineering (and I have friends who have done them, believe me!)

~work with NASA on the shuttle
~work for Hershey in the chocolate processing plant
~design toys (yes, there's a class on that at my univ.)
~plan which employees should be doing what and when (if you like to boss people around)
~become doctors
~ and so on, and so forth

But don't choose engineering if you have something else that you really love. Someone told me that you will spend more (waking) hours at your job than you will with your spouse. And, if you think about it, it is true. So don't force yourself into a career that you are only tepid about when you can be doing something that makes you want to get up and come to work every day.

Mainly because I am not an avid reader. Most other curriculums require a massive amount of reading. Plus I liked math (to a certain point) and I liked to know how things work. So I ended up being a mechanical engineer. I was not a great student but I made it and I got a degree. I am proud of that. But more than that I ended doing things that were fun. If you are not having fun at a job it is time to move on. Life is too short to suffer. I am a piping engineer .. it is fun and I still enjoy it at age 62. So my advice is do what you like to do .. because in the real world you will do massive amounts of it. One last factor ... when you learn a lot of engineering things it gives you a perspective about the world that a non-scientific person may never know. So it is worth it. Good luck !

I liked math and science, but I didn't love it.

I chose engineering but I didn't have a burning desire to be an engineer although I wanted a higher level of education.

I figured it was harder to get into engineering programs in general, but it would be easier to do average in engineering classes and transfer to easier majors. I thought that if I changed majors I would at least have covered a lot of my requirements for the sciences. I even tried liberal arts for a while, but didn't enjoy it so I went back to engineering.

I hope that helps.

Basically I went into technical high school and I took civil engineering and that is not my engineering field, my engineering field is mechanical! Who want to study the samething after high school, CE is only my extra knowledge cause ME don't have CE knowledge but got EEE knowledge! The reason I don take EEE during high school cause the practical knowledge is not deep enough to build a mechanical project that why I went into industrial electronic vocational course after high school before I went into my degree! The reason I choose engineering path cause I went through engineering education in high school and after high school if I choose other path it will very funny in my life cause engineering cert is just like my body and blood! If I choose the pure science path, I will end up as a pharmacist cause I will never think about engineering anymore unless it's my last resort!
(I love math, pyhsic, chemistry and technical subject) Anyway engineering course also offer art subject like business enough for me to do pharmacy business too!

I hated math but i loved science. Funny thing is i was one of those that always said when the heck am i ever going to use this? Guess what? lol. Don't ever say that. do it if it is something you would really want to do . What field are you looking at specifically?I went ahead and attained my BS in electrical engineering. Make absolutely sure it is something you would like to do.

you will would desire to take Biology and Chemistry A ranges. the two the uni will ask you to take them at a university or some will furnish a beginning place twelve months in the previous the truly path the place you will learn each and each of the biology and chemistry you may desire to proceed in that container. in case you pass the assessments and get the grades they prefer interior the beginning place twelve months they permit you proceed with the path. If no longer, you have gotten wasted extremely some time and money - so sure that is going to likely be complicated paintings. each degree is complicated paintings. you will desire to have a historic past in chem and bio in some unspecified time interior the destiny on your education to do the two biotech or biomed. stable success!
