Constant acceleration means the rate of change of velocity per unit time is constant .That means if a moving object is accelerating at one foot/meter per second it will maintain the same increase every second .

Imagine sitting in a car and the speedometer keeps getting faster and faster at the same rate. Like if the numbers increased at one per second: 1MPH, 2MPH, 3MPH, 4MPH, and kept on going. But cars are notorious for not having constant acceleration. The fastest acceleration is in first gear, while second and higher gears produce slower and slower acceleration until top speed is reached, and acceleration is zero (because velocity is constant).

constant acceleration refers to a steady increase in velocity (steady increasing slope in the velocity versus time graph) The velocity is increasing at a steady rate.
