When we refer to our planet Earth, why do we call it THE Earth. If we were talkin about Mars we wouldn't say The Mars we would just say Mars. So why do we add 'The' before 'Earth' when 'Earth' is its name?

Think about it and leave comments.

Please I will try to explain my full understanding of GEO,ECCENTRICITY,INCLINATION,GEOSYNCHRONOUS and GEOSTATIONARY in my own words . please do correct me if i make any mistake
I am immagining the orbit position to be like the way beads are arranged in a circuler string.
The beads are the satellites and the string is the orbit
The string(orbit) is aperfect circle(zero eccentricity) and and lies directly over the equator(zero inclination) at an altitude of 35,786 km.The beads (satelites) and the earth move at the same speed( geosynchronous), therefore the satellite would appear motionless from the earth (Geostationary). The possition of the beads in the circumfrance of the circle repressent the orbit possition of the individual satellites

And if we are looking and seeing it head-on is it coming towards the Earth? The Mayan Calendar ends in 2012.
Someone here on Yahoo put it down as 12/12/2012. I read that Comet 17P/Holmes is in the Northern Skies and looks pretty fuzzy right now. All that dust reflecting light, a comet with no tail.

Thats it, I can't take it no more I resign my job, start spending 100% time with my love ones and getting in all the debt I can who cares this is going too end anyway, why not to enjoy the last of it? Before answering something stuped do some research about this events and you will see that there is some cientific point and a spiritual too that is too much coinsidence dont you?

Why is it hard for people including me to grasp the concept of a universe that just existed even before Earth was created and before that how did the universe come to be? Did it just happen? It's weird even talking about it but want to know your thoughts.Doesn't this point to some sort of creator?

There is too much ambient light in Richmond, VA for me to get a good view of the sky. I've driven out to Louisa and Hanover in order to find a spot without a lot of extra light, but then the surrounding trees get in the way.

Where is a spot I can drive to (within an hour's drive) that is dark enough and clear of obstructions so that I can view the sky? Also, it must be publicly accessable. (I have no need to get arrested for stargazing!)
