and they were distant cousins of humans abducted from earth and transplanted on another world thousands of years ago as some kind of alien experiment, and they finally found there way back to the planet of there origin, would you be shocked, stunned, confused, how would you feel?

Nothing wrong with thinking...however, what makes you think that alien species from another solar system are going to be manlike (humanoid form)?

If you look at the enormous number of species of insects, fish, reptiles and birds here on Earth, when you compare that to the one species of mammal that developed the ability to reason (human beings), the probability of that happening somewhere else is very small. Much more likely would be the development of thinking in one of the other classes of life such as insects, fish, birds or reptiles. Octopus and certain fish here on earth are reported to be highly intelligent. It would only take a jiggle or two in their development stages to produce larger brains with greater calculating and reasoning power. The preying mantis of the insect world is highly intelligent when it comes to hunting and the detection of foes.

I would be very glad that it happened in my lifetime. It would no doubt be the story of the century and change everything we thought we knew. Religious groups would no doubt be skeptical as would many people. Look how many don't believe that the U.S. landed men on the Moon?

Initially I would have the highest level of curiosity. I'd want to know as much as possible.

Next might be a little fear mixed with excitement. Fear from the standpoint of we are so much behind in technology and that there are those out there doing such things to others (the kidnapping etc - what else did they do?) who have probably kept advancing and the excitment of we have so much more to learn and discover.

We'll know we can go forth and explore.

Then they could be over-bred. and finally, we would locate the two a staggering sufficient reason to combat or enslave them, or (hugely no longer likely) we would come across a place in our lifestyle for them to in high quality condition, no remember if separated or assimilated. how woul this in high quality condition into the "god given area" psyche some people have approximately people? i will't help yet think of they might in no way be seen equals to people. i assume interbreeding is impossible with the different creatures, and because quite some our psyche is relating to intercourse and as nicely to the language barrier it could be an insurmountable impediment to inter-species expertise and acceptance. no longer interior the foreseeable destiny might there be commonplace friendships. might they simply be seen as a guess and as we communicate terminated? no longer except they felt as though we've been a guess. i think of that a minimum of u.s. in many situations might begrudgingly settle for them as a clean actuality of existence, and different could seek for to exploit them, putting them in jobs the place they look pre-appropriate.
