I know they've picked a design for the replacement, but what happens if they can't have it built and teasted in just 3 years?

It was around 1 am (I believe) on a Friday morning about two weeks ago. I'm curious to know if anyone else was fortunate enought to see it. I live in the Winston-Salem/Clemmons area of North Carolina.

It was very obviously huge and bright.

Thanks.

If one thing is certain it is that life on Earth will end and Earth itself will eventually die. How will this happen?

I read a really interesting science book, but it's lost, and it spoke of beginning of the universe, when dark and light pretty much fought.
Now, I can't remember, but is the darkness in the sky anitmatter, and is so, what is the light considered?

I've always pondered this but if objects that are 100+ light years away just snapshots into the past? If it takes a million years for the light to reach us wouldn't we just be seeing an image that is a million years old? If that object were destroyed or altered yesterday then (I would think) it would take us a million years before we could see the change. I'm no astronomy buff but I love to ponder over its beauty and wonder occasionally. So am I right or wrong and please explain why either way. Thanks!

in terms of atmospheres. i mean, mars' gravity could only keep hold of so much atmospheric gas.

hmm. let's see. we can figure out the gravitational strength by looking up the acceleration due to gravity on mars, which is 3.69 m/s2 at the equator, as compared to 9.81 m/s2 for earth. so the gravity strength is about a third of earth's - does that mean mars can only support a third of earth's atmosphere? if it does, that means it can only support an atmospheric pressure of about 0.3 ATMs, which is pretty much nothing...can humans live in an environment of 0.3 atms?
