This is a theory that is becoming more and more accepted with the scientific community. In case you aren't familiar with it, the theory states that the universe has been expanding since the big bang, and will eventually contract to produce a 'big crunch', where the universe is compressed to a singularity in about 22 billion years. The theory suggests that this action will have a rebound effect that will immediately have another big bang and this process will repeat itself, as it has been and will be for eternity. I was wondering about peoples thoughts on this?

Since light has no mass, how does it get pulled by a black hole? For the equation Gm1m2/r^2, m2 = 0, so G should be 0, right?

I've read that the builders of the Great Pyramid knew the earth was round because the dimensions of it are based on the exact size of the earth.

Is there a way to look at the stars or something and know the size of the earth?

And how come they knew something 5000 years ago we just figured out 500 years ago?

I have my ideas of how but I'd like to hear how you think they did it, also how did ancient people know exact north and south?

I am looking at the full moon right now from North Devon in UK. It appears to have a white then orange and a fainter blue aura around it. I've not seen this before (perhaps I havn't been looking). What causes this and why?
