We are debating whether or not to stay on Earth or go to another planet. My group has the stay on Earth side. Any good rebuts, reasons, or arguments to the other side.

because we're used to it...

Think about it for a second. In history, America was discovered and war erupted. It would be the same concept, but differ from immigrating. If we all were to travel to another planet and establish a colony, we would have problems because we are bewildered of the resources on the planet. Does it supply water? Does it have air? It's really the ecological questioning you want to develope in your debate. Otherwise, talk about how fun earth is. The most important thing when you reason... bring up questions that will make the listener think about the consequences of going to the other planet. If we all go to the other planet, will supplies last? WIll there be a politcal conflict of who owns the planet? Also, list your points. Then... at the end... mention how the world would be a better place if we stayed on Earth... Lets not abadon our planet... LMAO. good luck.

What better reason than there is to date no other planet we know about in the entire universe where we could live.

Get real, please. Think you need a reality check. Or maybe, just go learn some astronomy.

It's like you saying "I think I'll give up my comfortable middle class home and go pitch a tent in Antarctica - only worse.

Go take a look at some of the NASA shots of the Earth taken from the Moon's desolation. It is the most beautiful place in the universe. There is nothing like Earth - nothing, zip, zilch.

Jeez, go take a walk in the forests, by mountain streams. Swim in a tropical lagoon. You are a result of city living, obviously.

We should probably agree to stay here. We don't yet have the technology to (1) leave the planet and actually get to another suitable place to live, or (2) make another planet suitable to live on. Plus we should learn how not to destroy this environment before we go ruin another planet.

Lets just say, it's nearly impossible TO go to another planet. I believe that the next closest planet is 3.6 lightyears away. That means if you could travel at the speed of light, you would be there in 3.6 years

Because think about the cost and the work it would take to create spaceships for all people, animals, and a lot (I mean, A LOT.) of food and water? So we should really fix the one we have before going to ruin another one :)

1.There is no evidence to suggest that humans would be able to live on any other planet.

2. Rocket fuel is ridiculously expensive and explosive... and not exactly readily available.
