It was around 1 am (I believe) on a Friday morning about two weeks ago. I'm curious to know if anyone else was fortunate enought to see it. I live in the Winston-Salem/Clemmons area of North Carolina.

It was very obviously huge and bright.

Thanks.

Good. It's always fun seeing bright meteors (meteors are the streak you see in the sky; a meteorite is the term used for such an object that survives it's plunge into the atmosphere and strikes the ground; a meteoroid is the same object still in open space). Quite likely what you saw was one of the Orionids, especially if it seemed to eminate from the constellation Orion. Those particular meteors are very fast and can be very bright. The Orionids were pretty spectacular this year...I saw 5 of them in about 10 minutes during the peak.

Do a little more analysis . how did it inter was it streaking across the heavens ,that would mean that it was in low orbit that had decayed. if it comes in very acute angle it could of been in deep space and just hit the earth.
