som b, hi!
just imagine an object that's 318 times bigger than the Earth, and that's also 1400 times the total volume of our planet! yes, that planet is Jupiter!
it's the 5th planet from the sun, and is the largest non-stellar (non star) object in OUR solar system...
Jupiter has 63 moons! the planet is a gas giant, composed mainly of hydrogen and helium in proportions near those of the Sun, which it orbits every 11.9 years at an average distance of 483 million mi (778 million km)...
almost nothing is known of it's internal composition, except for educated guesses... that's because almost any probe dropped into the planet is quickly CRUSHED by the tremendous tidal and gravitational forced of the planet...
it is presumed to have a deep layer of metallic hydrogen and a dense core... it's central temperature is estimated to be 45,000 °F (25,000 °C) and it radiates twice as much heat as it receives from the Sun...
it is visible to the naked eye, except for short periods when in near conjunction with our Sun... usually it is the second brightest planet in the sky; only Mars at its maximum luminosity and Venus appear brighter than the King of the Planets...
hope this helped...
enjoy!
