Can 1667 benefical mutations over 5 million yrs of man's so-called development explain ALL the uniquely human adaptions including, tripling the brain size, upright posture, hand dexerity, vocal cords to name a few? Remember 1- Paleontologist say the majority of a species existence is spent in stasis! 2- According to geneticist a "substitution" is typically ONE-NUCLEOTIDE. Walter James Remine's "Biotic Massage book agrees with Haldane's cost calculations. Evolutionary geneticist including John Maynard-Smith agree that "Punctuated Equilbrium" is NOT the answer. The Neutral theory is NOT the answer as Walter ReMine predicts. Therefore should Evolution/Abiogenesis continue to be taught in schools as an empirical science? Or provided a "walling-wall" and cathedral and taught as a religion? Or abandoned as a "Harry Potter-like fable?

this seems like a simple question...most people would answer "by newton's third law"...however, consider this:
an object is traveling at a velocity of 5m/s at a solid brick wall. The acceleration of the ball is 0 and thus, the ball is moving w/ a force of 0 N (F = ma = 0m = 0). obviously, the ball will bounce back off of the brick wall, but this cannot be caused by newtons third law can it??--there is no action force to cause a reaction force in the opposite direction...when the ball collides into the wall, there is no force pushing it, so how can there be a force pushing the ball backwards?

Well in shcool I remember learning that the color you see, like green from grass is actualy the reflection of light that is not absorbed by the grass, and that is why you see red after looking at a green dot for 5 min.

So does that mean that grass is actualy red?

Is this plausible:
Our solar system is located near the center of a finite distribution of galaxies. Although this cannot be proven for certain at present, it is fully consistent with the evidence; so it is a reasonable possibility. In that case, the earth would be in a gravitational well. This term means that it would require energy to pull something away from our position into deeper space. In this gravitational well, we would not feel any extra gravity, nonetheless time would flow more slowly on earth (or anywhere in our solar system) than in other places of the universe. This effect is thought to be very small today; however, it may have been much stronger in the past. (If the universe is expanding as most astronomers believe, then physics demands that such effects would have been stronger when the universe was smaller). This being the case, clocks on earth would have ticked much more slowly than clocks in deep space. Thus, light from the most distant galaxies would arrive on earth!

a is the top limit, 0 is the bottom limit.

I'm talking about people with a grasp of the laws of Newtonian physics, nothing fancy, just being familiar with the agreed laws of physics and mechanics.
By the way, what was the Popular Mechanics thing about? I read it, and was bemused that its physical sophistry was so clumsy.

A solid cube of radium is floating in deep space. Each edge of the cube is 1km in length. An astronaut is protected from its radiation if she remains at least 1km from the nearest spec of radium including the interior of the cube. What is the volume (in cubic km) of space that is forbidden to the astronaut?

We've concluded that:
-The shape can't be a sphere nor a cube
-The shape does not have vertices
-The corners are arced so that she remains exactly 1km from the radium
-The distance from arc to arc is 3km

We have some idea of what it looks like, but do not know how to calculate the volume. Any suggestions would be EXTREMELY helpful. :)
