I have a challenge...well...a semi challenge anyways. That is, I want to see what you know before I know what you see. Read everything before answering...its short.

I want to hear about Daisy. She died two years ago, and I want to know more about how she is doing in the afterlife, if there is one.

I'd prefer for those people who want to comment "I have the gift but I don't want to be tested" and "My gift won't work unless you have complete faith in me" and "there is no such thing as mysticism" to resist comment. I'm looking for answers, not opinions. Thank you very much for your consideration....this means a lot to me.

Here is a picture of a knife and I was wondering what the purpose of the hole towards the end of the blade is.

http://spln.imageg.net/graphics/product_images/p3567612reg.jpg

The knife is large enough so it doesn't make much of a weight difference. Maybe it would be useful if you wanted to bend a piece of metal like a nail?

Find the slope of the tangent line to the curve r = 4 cosθ at the point where θ = pi/4.

Then the instructor had this formula: dy/dx = (dr/dθ)/(dr/dθ) =
(sinθ + r cosθ)/cosθ - r sinθ), which for some reason resulted (using r above): (-4sin^2θ + 4cos^2θ)/(4sinθcosθ - 4cosθsinθ). I know that dr/dθ = -4sin, however, I just don't see the correlation between the formula, the derivative of r, and the result she had. Any help is appreciated, thanks!

We are measuring the IQ of students at a college. We choose a sample of 30 students, and find for the same a mean IQ of 118.3, with a standard deviation of 11.4. Find the 95% confidence interval for the population mean. I have the answer [114.221 to 122.379] but I want to know the step by step formula to use. I don't know the statistical symbols so if someone can write it out for me I would greatly appreciate it.

the terms of comparison:
if same amount of chromatic and spherical aberrations are present which image will be the more magnified one. OR:
if both images are equally magnified which will be the one with less aberrations.
I am asking because I learned that refractors' chromatic and spherical aberrations are depend on their focal ratios.

If one twin is in a spacestation and the other is in a ship moving past the station at a high speed, the twin in the ship will have aged less than the one in the station when he returns. (Assume the ship does not stop on return) This is usually explained by the fact that the ship is not an inertial frame because it must accelerate to turn around for the return part of its trip.

But what if the universe is closed and the ship just continues to travel at a constant speed in a straight line until it has gone all the way around the universe and has returned to its starting point? The austronaut never feels any acceleration; this would be an inertial frame. So there is no way to say which twin is "really" moving and which is at rest. The situation is symmetrical for both. So each one should be younger relative to the other.
This seems like a true paradox. Relativity says they can not be the same age. And symmetry says both can claim to have been the one "at rest" and thus the older.
