I kayacked to an island and spent the weekend last week. As I was gathering wood on Saturday, I stumbled upon a plump porcupine. Did it swim there? Was it trapped after the ice thawed? Any thoughts? (The island is a few hundred yards from shore.)

Ok, it was a few years ago and I was about to go to sleep, I happened to look up at the ceiling and see a gigantic spider, about the size of my fist. It was brown, but it was not a tarantula because it wasn't hairy and fat. It was thin and spindly (the worst kind in my opinion.) Anyways what kind of spider is this? I've never seen any like it, and I hope I never do again.

I bought myself a hybrid camry a month or so ago. And please, don't tell me its not worth the gas savings. I know all the math and I love my new car. Just as an engineer I am curious - there must be savings on the pads because some braking is done by the engine.

I'm not quite sure how to phrase this. Strings are thought to be multi-dimensional fields of energy, right? Is it a valid question to ask what "makes up" this energy? What sort of energy is it? Does it have a source (big bang) ?

Here is what happened to me the other day. I have symptoms of reactive hypoglycemia a lot but my blood sugar levels never go out of the range of normal. For example, I ate a bunch of chocolate and got nauseated, sweaty, dizzy, anxious (heart was racing), short-tempered, paranoid, saw black splotches, etc. But next day I ate normal food and did not have any of this...until I ate chocolate again. Then started falling asleep at the computer, then rest of the symptoms again....but doctors say not proven w/out GTT test that shows sugar levels out of range of normal. Sugar level was 95-99 each time I checked. I feel it is something diabetic-like though. Btw, I am 5'3, 119 lbs, and I have an..um..eating issue also, which may have caused this. I hate protein, don't tell me to eat it and "fix" everything. Question is how to get a doc to believe me and document it. And what is "it"?
