Considering most people around me think that THEY are the center of the universe, how do you go closer, farther, or stay the same distance away? No matter where I move, I'm moving closer to, farther away from, and staying the same distance away from a center of the universe!

Hmm, when u find out where it is let me know. Its too big to have a center. I would like to explore the universe though. Maybe theres a parallel planet where everythings the opposite to here

Closer is open space. Boring and every where else but here cant support life so here is where we stay.
You should know that. so whats your question?
If you are talking about a space ship we can make? still to far for you to go. boring open space.
And to stay? Not much is going to get here by the time my great great great great great grandchild's great etc. so that doesn't matter either
