I hate it when they get above you when you're about to turn out the light, and then they drop down on you like, "Hi! I'm here for a visit!" That happened to me a couple of weeks ago, a big spindly-legged one landed right on my nose when I had my eyes closed. I like spiders but not on my face. Oh well.
You should refer to an identification guide to estimate what kind of spider you saw. There's no way of telling for certain unless you see another one just like it. Even a slight difference of detail can indicate a whole different species. Most of the spindly-legged spiders are web-builders, as opposed to the ones who chase or hunt their food.

Could be what is commonly called, a giant house spider, not venomous, extremely fast. We get them all the time now that the temperature is getting a little cooler. They get pretty big, leg span included I saw some about 5 cm across.

What kind of spider it was depends on what area ur in. It could've been like a Dock Spider or sumthing. I would hate for it to be a Recluce, those things r DEEEEAADLY!!! im arachniphobic, but i kno a lot about spiders. im guessing it was a Dock or Wood spider though.

It might have been a daddy long legs which is completely harmless. If it was light brown and long fine threadlike legs that might be what it was.
