Can I ask what the symptoms were like? Were they different than if you weren't on the pill? Did you miss your period? or did you just have a feeling so you took a test? and Did you figure it out later than normal?

Long story: I am 5 weeks pregnant and I have a wonderful primary care doctor. However, she referred me to an OB/GYN that is not close to my house, not board certified, and not a fellow of the american college of OB/GYN. I got a word of mouth referral to another practice that has more doctors in it and I got scheduled with a doctor who is board eligible and a junior fellow of the ACOG. This practice doesn't schedule patients until 8-9 weeks pregnant. I though you should see an OB/GYN at 6 weeks. I am still being followed by my PCP but need an OB/GYN. They made my appointment for January 7, 2008 by that time I figure I will be 10+ weeks pregnant and this makes me really nervous. Is this waiting too long to be seen? Please help. This is my first pregnancy and my mom had difficult pregnancies so I want to make sure I do everything right.

I am 34 weeks/ 3 child. I just got back from the doctor a few hours ago. my cervix is almost completely effaced. she said that my cervix was almost completely gone...this shocked me i was like GONE? last week i wasnt effaced at all and was finger tip dilated this week my cervix is almost gone and still finger tip dilated and posterior. my questions are

is it common to be almost completely effaced before really dilating? i never had this happen with my other 2 it was the opposite.

Whats the likelihood that i will make it another 2 weeks on ur opinion? my doctor said she thinks baby will be comming REALLY soon

my first was born due date barely.. 5 1/2 hours labor

second born was 10 days early and was a little less then an hour and half of labor?

the hospital is fairly close just has lots of traffic and lights on the way to it?
when should i go to the hospital? and should i call the ambulance to take me since medical pays for it? IM REALLY NERVOUS NOW.
PLEASE HELP!!!

Ok so the other question about whether or not it is legal to not see a doctor during pregnancy inspired me to ask this, because i dont see what the big deal is. opinions welcome, here is the deal: im about 5 months right now and because this month is so busy and im so tight on money, i called the other day to cancel my monthly appointment for december. all they ever do is have me pee in a cup, weigh me, and then check the heart beat. 5 mins and im out the door and i have to drive 2 hours there and 2 hours back home just for that so i didnt think it was that big a deal to miss just this month. i understand later down the road is more critical but the receptionist totally threw a fit on me and said i couldnt wait that long. she actually had the nerve to tell me that she was responsible for my pregnancy! im sorry but this is my child and my body and i am the only one ultimately responsible for either of us so if i decide i cant make it to ONE appointment that should be on me, right? plus,

I am 2 months pregnant and so far, I've seen 4 doctors. They all treated me like crap, saying that I wasn't their probleme, telling me that even with 4 misscarriage I could still weight lift and work out, that a 13 hours patrol is not dangerous for the baby. When I ask question, they say to go on the internet.
I've tried the mid-wife but they are full.
Me and my boyfriend are thinking about not seeing any more doctors and taking care of this ourselves. Is it legal?

This is my first pregnancy, and, I don't know exactly what to expect from this procedure (other than having to fast prior to the test and such). I'm hypoglycemic already, so I'm nervous that I'll end up being like my mom was when she last took this test (she was also hypoglycemic and nearly passed out after drinking the liquid they give you). So yeah, any answers about the procedure would be useful and very much appreciated.

Also, I somehow scheduled my GTT on the same day as a concert that I'm performing in. As long as I do the test in the morning, would I be back to normal by the time the concert comes around that evening?

That just because im going to be a young mother and i have never been through labor that i dont know what i want... Like when people ask questions about my pregnancy and baby and this and that i am very open on how i want a water birth and no drugs and i plan on breastfeeding. Everyone is like o well hunny you will change your mind and be begging for that epidural.. Like im an idiot or something.. I dont get why people can be so rude, why is it everyone ALWAYS has something to say. Like one friend of my mother in laws said o just wait once you start breastfeeding your boobs are going to start to hurt and your going to switch to formula in a heart beat! Like breastfeeding is about me?? I mean c'mon! Who cares if it hurts, their are ways around it if thats what i choose for my daughter... I mean..Has anyone else experienced these hypocritical people or do they just like to prey on me?? The first time mom who got married at 17 and pregnant at 19!

I'm now 17 weeks pregnant... and I'm not showing at all... I realize it would be hard to tell because I was overweight when I became pregnant... but I want to know that it's normal.... I'm just worried
And... last time I went to the Dr. (last month) they told my my baby's heartbeat was 160bpm. Is that good? My Dr. was late seeing another patient so she kinda rushed me out of the room without answering my questions.

My husband and I are trying for a baby for the first time this month. I started to chart as well this month (temperature, cervix fluid etc.). Well, we had sex about five times during my ovulation period. But I noticed that I did not have the slippery cervix fluid that I should have when I ovulate. I was thinking well maybe I did not ovulate this month. Is this possible? Did that happened to anyone? Thank you

The only 'symptom' I have is that my period is about 4 days late. It's NEVER late. I have been feeling full a lot quicker when I eat and even a little naseous at times but only after eating, is that considered morning sickness? I'm just kind of confused becuase the test I have says it's still too early to take it, that I have to wait a week after my period was due. When do your breasts get tender? When do you start getting sick? What about the tiredness? I feel tired- but maybe I'm talking myself into it or maybe I've been woring too hard? When can I expect to feel symptoms if I am pregnant?
