I am 32 weeks pregnant with my second baby. My first was delivered via cesarean solely because he was breech (not because of any pregnancy or delivery complications). This pregnancy has also been uncomplicated, and he is in the vertex position. My doctor asked me if I wanted to do a repeat C-section or try a VBAC; I told him I wasn't sure yet, and he told me to decide within the next 2 weeks (in case baby comes a little early). I've done a lot of reading on VBACs and I'd like to try it only to have the experience of both types of births, but with the risks involved with a VBAC, however small, I'm not sure if I should just do a C-section since it's "safer". I've been told by a nurse (not by the doctor) that I may want to do a repeat cesarean only because my other child was born so close to this one (he will be 16 months old when this second one is born), and having a vaginal birth may put additional unnecessary strain on my body. I just can't decide. Any thoughts or suggestions?
