i think that some ppl here aren't getting it

but yes i love the implication of your question

and it's sad when in capitivity primates don't know how to care for their young.....they don't necessarily "abandon" it....it's just that with primates our ability and know how to care for our infant is a socially learned behavior....if a mother primate (humans included in this) is never taught to breastfeed and cuddle then she simply doesn't know to do it

look at us....most of us grow up in a society that pushes bottle feeding....a lot of women have never seen a baby fed any other way sadly....and therefore have no support system when they attempt to breastfeed

same thing for zoo gorillas and chimps

It has been done in some societies. Women would breast feed a pig on one side and a human child on the other. Once a zoo had a baby Gorilla that was abandoned by it's mother. They put out a request for human milk from the La Leche Society. ..they got several women that volunteered to nurse it.

I think that the fact you are thinking about it makes you very weird.

FYI to all posters...this asker is posting all kind of "breast feeding animals" questions in many categories and totally abusing the system. Other posters have suggested reporting the questions. She can report my answer if she likes but then Yahoo mods will read my response and check all her strange bfeeding animals posts. If she's smart, she'll just stop posting this garbage. Or at least choose the proper forums for her rants. BTW, ranting is also prohibited...

There was a woman who breastfed a tiger on tv a couple years ago, she seemed pretty happy about it.
Its no more wrong than a human drinking cow milk

Ohh, ha ha. I get this one.

Humans are mammals which are considered animals. We are technically animals. So how do you think a human would feel breastfeeding her baby? Get it now?

I'm guessing you're making a reference to humans drinking a cow's milk. Cow's don't care. Milk cows get fed incredibly well, because if the didn't they wouldn't produce. They have to be treated well because their milk will go sour otherwise. If they DO have a calf, they are still milked, but that milk is given to the calf via a bottle. Cow's don't have the brain function to allow them to get unhappy because their milk is taken away. It doesn't hurt them and besides, do YOU know what it feels like to have your "udders" full with no relief? OUCH.
