I am 12 weeks pregnant and I know that pregnancy causes extra saliva and mucous to be produced...but is it reall normal to feel like your lungs are heavy and to feel like all the breath is escaping your lungs and you get dizzy?

I feel breathless and like there is a weight on my chest when I am lying down and I'm 13 weeks pregnant. Those feelings, and dizziness, are normal because of the increased demands on your heart and circulatory system in pregnancy.
Some women even pass out and faint occassionally. Still, mention it to your doctor to make sure the dizziness is not caused by an iron deficiency.

No, I would not call that normal. But you could be having a stress reaction and that could be normal! Do you have asthma or any history of it? Later in pregnancy there is pressure on your lungs as the uterus pushes up on your diaphragm but you are not at that stage yet. If you have gained a lot of weight during your first trimester or have been sedentary, you could also be getting out of shape if you are getting these symptoms after exercising (like climbing a flight of stairs).

I am no doctor but that does not sound normal or at least I did not experience that. Consult you doctor as soon as possible.

yes it can make you like this...akol of people actually pass out when they are pregnant...go see your doctor and have them check you over though ok and make sure you and baby are ok....
