Pregnancy - September 2007

I'm only 7 weeks pregnant with my first and have already gained 10 lbs since finding out I was pregnant. I was a normal, healthy weight before getting pregnant, but I was bullimic. I won't do that while I'm pregnant and I haven't, but now that I'm eating normally I'm gaining weight like crazy. I gorge myself on Krispie Kreme's or fast food or anything. I just have to eat frequently due to morning sickness, but I'll have an apple or a granola bar every 1-2 hours. I'm really getting depressed about gaining weight so fast. What can I do? Is there something wrong? I wouldn't mind walking or doing aerobics but I've just been exhausted and sick. Any ideas? Thanks!

I just found out that I am pregnant by taking HPT and I wanted some tips on how do I let my husband know? I just want to make it romantic since we have tried it loong and this is our first baby!

Just curious, if you have been pregnant and had morning sickness, what week did it end? I am in mid week 8 and totally miserable, none of the 'tricks' seem to help much, just grasping for a light at the end of the tunnel!!! I never actually throw up, but my stomach is constantly nautious. Thanks....

I've heard that the uterus can detach from the uterine wall during pregnancy. How does this happen? How will you know when it happens? Does it kill the baby? What site can I look up info on this?

i booked a private 2d scan for 9th oct as doc wont get me scan until 14- 16 weeks. how clear is it and can you see then if its twins or not? anyone had one this early or went private for it?how good was it? i cant wait, it doesnt feel real at the moment!!

i just found out I'm 2 months pregnant n the ultrasound said the approximate date of conceiving which is the same day i slept with a guy..but i slept with 2 guys in one month...do i consume the father is what the ultra sound says or should i get a dna test once the baby is born?

I just found out I'm pregnant, and I'm scared to death. I miscarried my first pregnancy in March at 3 months. (The baby's heart had just stopped beating)I had to have a D&C (and then I was bleeding internally after that, and had to have a second, emergency surgery....but that's a whole other story) At any rate, we waited about 5 months to start trying again. And Monday I found out I was pregnant again. I am so scared of going through a miscarriage again. My husband and I desparately want this child. I know stress is bad for me, so I try not to worry, but because I never had a "normal" pregnancy, I worry that every ache and pain is a sign something wrong. So, I guess my question is- any advice on how to ease my mind? And also, has anyone been in my position, where they miscarriage and went on to have a normal, healthy pregnancy? Thank you

after having 1 of my 5 preg tests faintly positve, i have handed in a urine sample (3 days later) and it has come back neg, my last period was off colour and ive just come on again and its off colour also, and i cant get a blood test to c if i am preg until after i hand in another urine sample next week.....i dont know if i can wait that long!.....has anyone ever had a very faint postive and then a neg water sample???

i was on the pill.....and was due to start my next pack this fri(which im not).....experienced episodes of tender breasts n tiredness

I have a couple questions, sometimes my belly feels like its got a balloon in it that is filling up with air, and it feels hard all over my belly. What could that be? Its completly painless, just a little uncomfortable. Also, every now and then I get very minor cramping feelings, what could that be? And lately the middle of my chest has been hurting alot, like its breaking...what could that be? I have a Doc app today, I just wandered if anyone could maybe give me some opinions.

I Took an E.P.t digital yesterday morning and it said "Pregnant" with first morning urine. The 3 I took that night said "Not pregnant" evening urine.. I took one again this morning "Not pregnant" what am I supposed to belive is there such thing on Digetals lying???

I am 14.5 weeks pregnant and I am thinking about changing doctors for my pregnancy becuase I am not happy with where I am going. Not only do they not have the birthing expierence I want I have found the staff to care more about getting you in and out of there in 5 minnutes to get more money and more of a turnover than to actually sit down and CARE about their paitents.

Wh at can I expect at my first prenatal visit with a new OB.. since I will be going to different hospitals do I have to go through all of that testing again, and proding in my hoo-ha, or what will they generally do?

I'm four days overdue and I feel totally miserable. I've been having nothing but diarreah and when I try to eat, I get so nauseated that I throw up most of the time (praying to the porcelain God at 5am was no picinic.) I am dialated, but everytime I go to the hospital they send me home. Even when I lay down I can't get comfortable because it hurts so much. The baby is basically beating my pelvic bone to death and I get sharp shooting pains throughout my tummy when he bangs against that area. I would take a bath, but last night when I was taking one, my vaginal area felt strange and it was as though I could feel the water getting inside of it. My water hasn't broken yet, but I have been getting a lot of thick discharge lately. I also had an asthma attack last night bc it's still hard to breathe even though the baby has dropped. Does anyone have any ideas of how I can get comfortable? I've been having strong contractions but they're scattered.

my wife had an internal scan yesterday - we assumed she was 6 weeks and 3 days from conception (approx) - but the doc instantly said 7 weeks and 5 days...showed us the heartbeat and let us listen to it (wonderful to hear!!)...don't get me wrong - we're not bothered that our own dates were wrong but just wanted to ask the question - are these scans very accurate?

MY BF AND I HAD UNPROTECTED SEX A FEW TIMES THIS MONTH AND WE USE THE WITHDRAWEL METHOD, BUT HE RUBBED THE SPERM ONTO MY VULVA WHEN HE WIPED THE MESS UP AND ANOTER TIME HE TOUCHED THE SPERM AND ONLY A FEW MIN LATER PUT HIS FINGERS IN ME. WE ALSO HAVE UNPROTECTED SEX MORE THAN ONCE A NIGHT. COULD I FALL PREGNANT COZ OF THIS? MY PERIOD IS DUE IN A WEEK, BUT MY BREAST ARE SORE AND I HAVE CRAMPS THAT STARTED YESTERDAY.


We are not trying to get pregnant, but we are comftable either way. Having a baby or not. We will definetly keep it.

Aaaargh. I am sitting here crying because hubby just rang me and asked if I wanted to go up to his parents for tea instead of cooking... now I love his parent so no issues there. The problem is they don't know what they are eating yet and I don't want to get there and find something I don't like so I'm crying (and laughing at myself at the some time)

When did she get pregnant.. ? She just had her baby September 17, 2007 which was just past monday.. I am trying to work out how to organise visitors after I give birth. I want to see my mum and my sister and my best friend most of all. but I am pretty sure I am only allowed 2 visitors at a time and my mum will want to come in with her boyfriend (they have been together for like 15 years so he is more like my step dad) and then I know my husbands parent will want to come in and aaaargh it's all just too messy.
So what I am hoping to do, is take my baby out to meet everyone at the same time.
Did you feel up to doing something like this after you gave birth?
I know everyone is different and there will be a range of answers but just wondering what your experience was\Thanks in advance

I'm having trouble deciding whether or not to get an epidural. At first my answer was an definate no because I don't trust the employees of the hospital where I have to have the baby not to paralyze me with the needle. It wont be an employee delivering so I thought that much would be safe. Now everyone's saying I should still get an epidural because the pain is too severe to take without one. I have a very high pain threshold but I'm concerned about the whole situation. What are the odds of actually getting paralyzed by the epidural needle? Should I or should I not have one?

I took 2 ANSWER brand pg test and they both came up positive. Then I took a first response and it also came up positive. The next day I went to the health dept and theirs came up positive. Well today I went to the hospital for a blood test and it came back negative. Could someone please explain. And I started my period today. I need some opinions. Thanks TTC 18 months.
