a good friend of mine just had a miscarriage (at 12 weeks). she went to the hospital, but they discharged her without any information on what to expect (pain and bleeding). she says she feels like she has the flu, but isn't sure if this is normal. i have been lucky enough not to have had one myself, and have 2 wonderful sons. she had her 2 daughters by cesarean, so she has no idea what labor feels like, and i don't know how to explain it to her.

i really want to help her to feel better (physically and emotionaly), but have no clue how. any ideas or experience on how long until she starts to feel "normal" again?

thanks for any help!

My sister in law is expecting their first in a little over a month and she is a work-a-holic, so we are just now getting around to the time when she can do a baby shower!

Any unique theme ideas???? I know that it's all been done, but this shower will be for both men and women and she is having a girl....Any cute/fun/sweet ideas are welcomed!

Why do people think a bunch of cells is a baby, did they not take biology lessons?

Wtih all this nonsense about killing babies and abortion with regards to morning after pills or abortion pills.

So not even taking the vacume aspiration.

But say days or a few wekks after sex.

How on earth is that a baby?

these people act like its a fully formed baby with a personaltiy and interest in stuff.

Its a bunch of cells, it has no thoughts or feeling sor emotions or awareness.

how about a reality check people?

I'm booked in for an abortion tomorrow morning and I don't know what to do... I'm 12 weeks pregnant now, I really do not want it done, I want this baby and feel emotionally stable. My boyfriend does not really want a child I don't think but says he will support me anyway. The problem is we could never afford the child, I have already checked benefits available in UK and because my boyfriend works full time earning a small wage we would not be entitled to anything at all. We only just manage to pay the bills now we would definetly not manage with a baby, there are no sacrafices we could make, we do not go out often. I think I have no option but to have this abbortion, it's so unfair as single mum's get lots of benefits but i'd be entitled to nothing. I keep crying as I think of that little life inside me and feel i have no other option. I could never carry the baby to full term and give it up for addoption. I'm 21

Ok I know the "milestones" part is kind of corny, but I was just wondering how far everyone here was when they first felt the tiny movements and when their partner could feel the baby, and when they could SEE the belly move...

Im wondering because I am only 22 weeks, and since around 14 weeks I was feeling the baby every now and then.... just little rolling feelings (and no one believed me... "its gas", they said) then around 3 weeks ago, it got more frequent... like once aday he would get active and move for a while.. and he could be felt sometimes... NOW at 22 weeks, he is moving it seems like all day long and i watched my belly move around this morning, and my hubby saw it from across the room. lol

Everyone thinks this is happening too soon for me, since all the website and everyone says most women dont even feel FLUTTERS by 22 weeks...

Others actual experiences???

I'm surprised at the abuse people get for posting queries about abortion in the pregnancy related section. Where else would you expect to ask these things. Shouldn't there be a section within the pregnancy catagory to ask these questions with suffering the abuse? I 100% support the right to hold whatever opinion you have on abortion but those needing to ask advice should have a place to do it without being given cruel, upsetting answers. Advice is fine but abuse is intolerable.

I seen my OB today and he said my blood pressure was "border line" What does this mean? I tried to ask him but he said not to worry about it right now, but i cannot help but worry, he wanted a urine sample, and even went back and checked my last urine results. It was kinda strange. Ive always had perfect blood pressure before. Im 32 weeks pregnant with baby number 3 and never had this problem. Thanks!!

My husband just informed me that my sister in law is trying to be induced next week. They are going in for an ultra sound this week in hopes that everything looks good for her to induce next week. She is due on May 15th. She was put on bedrest 2 weeks ago because of a wierd reaction to some cold medicine, and she is extremly bored, very big and miserable. As I recalled from being pregnant, being huge and miserable the last few weeks is normal. I am just wondering if this would be okay for the baby. What kinds of risks are involved in this kind of early delivery? Would a doctor really do this if there was nothing wrong with the baby or mother, except that she is bored and miserable being so big? Please help me sort this out.

I was in a relationship with a great guy, we were only together for 3 months and I found out I was pregnant after being carefull!!! and it was after we had decided to end the relationship..

I always thought I would know how I would feel in this situation, my head is telling me that I am not ready for a baby, I am on a very low income and will not be able to support the baby very well... my ex, who has stood by me thoughout the very long and painful process on the NHS waiting list has said that he is really not ready and cannot afford to bring up a child...

However my heart is telling me another thing.... I am due to have an abortion next week, I am very scared of the procedure (surgical) and scared of how I will feel after...

Any advice from those who have been in the same/similar situation would be appreciated xx

Thanks for all your input. I am probably paranoid and a little excited too about the possibility of being pregnant so my imagination could be running wild but still.....my face is clearer than it's been in months...my pant size went up 1 size..things I have noticed lately that I normally wouldn't. I guess I just need to take a test already and get it over with. I kinda hope it's positive. My boyfriend and I have been living together for 4 years, I am 26 years old and we both make decent money so a baby would be a blessing...I am just a little scared of the idea.. :)

Hi, we just found out yesterday that I am around 6 weeks pregnant! I can't help but worry though as apart from feeling abit tired and moody I feel completly normal! Oh I do feel hungry like ALL the time, and feel an odd sort of twinge in my tummy occasionally. But I havn't been feelin nauseus and I don't have sore breasts which my doctor said I should probably be experiencing. I just want my baby to be ok! Its my first pregnancy so I havn't a clue what to expect really.

If you accidentally get pregnant while on the pill, and you keep taking it until you find out for sure that you're pregnant, can taking the pill hurt your baby? Does anyone know a website that talks about this?

The reason why I ask this question is because I'm worried if I'm starving my baby. You know how newborns feed all day, But I only eat 3 times a day so like my last meal that I eat is at the latest 6:00 and I don't usually eat anything else until the next morning like around 8:30. So if you look at it that is more the a 12 hr gap and I know you have to feed a newborn 6 to 7 time with in the time frame. So am I hurting my unborn or starving her?

the reason i ask is because the last few weeks i haven't felt well. very tired, backache, had dirrahoea for 4 days and now for the last 2 days have been constipated. did a preg test a week ago and was negative. but because i haven't had a period i can't go by a normal early sympton of missed period. how i've felt was same when i was pregnant with my daughter.
