How do you know there are 2 eggs? If there are, and only 1 gets fertilized then the other will be disposed of.

How do you know you produced 2 eggs? When Women ovulate it is usually only from one side and one egg unless your on fertility drugs. In the case of twins/triplets either 2 eggs come down and you have fraternal or 1 splits to identical twins and 1 single baby (triplets). Both eggs can split and you have quads. In the case of fertility drugs mostly but has happened naturally . It will be hard to tell until 1st ultrasound what is going on.if only 1 egg has fertilized the other will absorb naturally back into the body,it will not affect the baby.

Okay, every woman (who doesn't have fertility issues) during the follicular phase begins to 'grow' anywhere from 20-30 follicles. Eventually one (sometimes 2 or more) sort of takes the lead and that one is the one ovulated. The others dissolve where they are in the ovary. If you actually ovulated two eggs the chances of only one getting fertilized is small but can happen. It dissolves in the first 1/3 of the tube closests to the ovary.

The unfertilized egg will be reabsorbed by your body.
