The reason why I ask this question is because I'm worried if I'm starving my baby. You know how newborns feed all day, But I only eat 3 times a day so like my last meal that I eat is at the latest 6:00 and I don't usually eat anything else until the next morning like around 8:30. So if you look at it that is more the a 12 hr gap and I know you have to feed a newborn 6 to 7 time with in the time frame. So am I hurting my unborn or starving her?

no, it is fine.. it is the calories you are getting all day that your baby feeds off of.. so as long as you are eating normally throughout the day your baby is not starving... it is feeding off your blood sugar though so YOU will be more comfortable with regular small meals and eating a small light before before bed and upon waking (fruits, veggies) but baby will find the food it needs even it it menas bleeding it from your body (bones, muscles) so make sure you are getting good nutirion and planty of calories throughout the day and you and baby will be great

I am not doctor, but i had a baby boy that i breast feed for 7 months. I guess you don't have to worry that much about the nigth time, that's not a problem at all.

You are not hurting or starving your baby, maybe you migth hurt your self only. Your body will take what it needs to create the best product for your baby, so if you don't have enougth nutriments, you migth found that youwill loose weigth, your skin, hair and nails migth be damaged, or things like that.

But not because of the time you don't have anything during the nigth, it will happen only if you don't nourish your self. It's not that you have to feed at much times as your baby does, you have to have your same habits, but you have to be very carefull to have the best you can.

You will naturally be more hungry that you are used to, so take care of your self and listen to your body. If you feel that you need something during the nigth, take some milk, or fruit.

Thanks for the info.

I'm fifteen weeks pregnant.

I always pretty much knew that my baby doesn't eat at the exact same time I do. However, I don't like waiting when I'm hungry (completely different from pre-pregnancy days, I could go hours without eating and was proud of it) because I don't want to deprive my daughter. (We found out on Monday with my ultrasound.) One night, in the past couple of weeks, I woke up tremedously hungry. It was keeping me from going back to sleep. So I could sleep and not wanting to deprive my child, I went to the kitchen a filled a small dessert bowl of grapes. It helped enough to put me back to sleep. Monday night, I was asleep by eight (usually I go to sleep by ten, though some nights I'm in bed by nine or nine-thirty). Very busy weekend and I guess it caught up to me. Anyway, I was awake by seven and I had an earlier breakfast, just because I was hungry and it had been almost 12 hours since I last ate. I knew that wasn't good for the baby or me.

I just make sure I eat regularly. I even have a snack before I go to bed. (I usually eat healthy, but occasionaly, I go for the junk. Now I say the baby wants it. he he) And when I think I'm gong to be out for awhile, I either take a granola bar with me or some trail mix or some fruit. Just to be safe.

I hope my experiences help.

At the top of the day, it is your selection and everyone can do is present their opinion and revel in on this quandary. Personally, I would not abort as I do not see Down's syndrome as a extreme sufficient incapacity to justify it. In an extra 2 weeks, your little one is possible and stands a well danger of survival external of the womb. Several infants have survived in neonatal in depth care models from 22 weeks gestation onwards. Whilst there are a few well being headaches usually related to the syndrome, plenty of Downs kids reside totally pleased lives. I've identified a few in my existence and I can truthfully say that they have been plenty happier than a few of the unaffected kids I understand. They also are very loving. My mum is aware of a Downs woman in her overdue twenties who's truthfully an actress and has her possess house. I could propose you speak to a counsellor earlier than doing whatever drastic as they're neutral and will present a few quite well recommendation. In addition to this, you might pass and spot your physician and uncover out what taking good care of a youngster with Downs truthfully includes. At the top of the day, that is nonetheless your little one. Abortion isn't anything to be taken calmly and will purpose you everlasting mental harm. If making a decision to retain along with your being pregnant, if it is complex or now not, you'll modify to having a youngster who demands somewhat additional care. I wish you control to arrive a selection that you're pleased with and want you all of the great for the long run.

Your baby will eat when his or her body needs the food. If you are not eating at that time, your baby will take what ever nutients it needs from wherever your body has it stored. This is why its important to take prenatals and vitamins of all sorts when you are pregnant. Example: Most womens teeth hurt during pregnancy because they are not having enough calcium in their diet. Even if they take calcium supplements and teeth are very sensitive its a sign saying they should take more. Maybe, get it from another source such as cheese milk and bread. The baby is needing calcium for its bones and is taking it from the mom's body. Hope that makes since. If you are worried, just make sure that you take your prenatals every day and drink lots of water.

Not a stupid question at al! I aked this myself when I couldnt eat because of my morning sickness. I didnt want my baby to be hungry! As long as your taking the vitamins, the baby is still getting what it needs. Whether or not your eating, he is still taking what he needs from you. So your the only one really that is suffering. But thats if you werent eating. But your eating plenty, and its great you asked this to make sure! Congrats!

The baby does NOT only eat when you eat.

Your body keeps a constant level of nutrients in your blood, your baby takes from this as he/she needs it. Your cells also take from that as they need it. You would have to eat 24/7 if your body couldn't regulate nutrient levels in your blood and keep them on a fairly constant level.

You should be fine.

However, you are getting to that stage where acid reflux and discomfort will be a problem. You will probably have to start eating less food at one time, but eat more meals.

Your blood sugar could drop waiting that long between meals.

You could always drink a glass of milk in the middle of the night, or right before bed.

Your baby gets fed continually through the blood exchange at the placenta. Your intake sounds perfectly adequate.

Your baby does eat when you eat, BUT only needs about 300 calories a day. So you are not starving you baby. Your doctor will tell you if there is a problem with fetal development or not. But I don't know many women who set there alarm clocks to wake up every 4-5 hours to eat while they are pregnant and there babies are all fine and thriving. As is mine.
