Pregnancy - December 2006

Are sore throat, coughing, stuffy nose signs of a regular cold or is it more likely that it's just because of the pregnancy?
My wife is 9 weeks pregnant and she has the above symptoms but no fever or aches. Is this normal pregnancy symptoms?

she's trying to get pregnant but won't stop smoking. She has one daughter now and smoked through that pregnancy and had some complications. She then got pregnant again and had a miscarriage at 6-8 weeks. Then she was pregnant a 3rd time and had a miscarriage at 5 months because the placenta was peeling off of the uterin wall (cause linked to smoking). Well she's still smoking and wants more kids. Her husband also smokes. It really bothers me.

I am only 4 weeks and the risk of miscarriage is so high during the first trimester. Like most other expectant parents, we are absolutely thrilled to be pregnant, but want to know what we can to do keep our baby as safe and healthy as possible.

I seem to be skipping periods...maybe once every few months...

im 4 months pregnant and my doctor says that i can still have sex and still get my rag normally and still drink and smoke, and it seems the more i do this the bigger my stomach gets and my cheeks and butt . i just wanna not be pregnant for i could have my fun...

About two weeks ago I had unprotected sex. Five days later I had my period. Could I still be pregnant? I have been having headaches where even my ears hurt for the past three days as well as a really light head feeling. Would it be too early to have symptoms.

When do you tell people that you are expecting? I'm only 8 weeks...I'd rather wait until I start showing but I'm having such a hard first trimester. I was thinking of telling my boss to explain my different-than-usual behavior (being extremely tired, snacking, frequent trips to the restroom). I feel like it's really noticeable because our office is so small-only three people.

Last night my GF and had sex, and I came in the condom inside of her. After I came, she thought that the condom had broke. To assure her that it didnt, I took the condom into the bathroom and poured water into it: there was no leak or tear as no water had come out of the condom. My question is, is have any of you thought the condom had broke but it ended up not breaking? and, is there a possibility she may become pregnant, even though I came in the condom which did not seem to be broken when I poured water into it and no water had come out? And another question would be, have any women tried to become pregnant while they were ovulating but did not become pregnant? Sorry if this seemed like a long question, just need some help! This is my first pregnancy. I had a large stomach and lower abdomen before I got pregnant. My stomach/abdomen is still not really hard. Is this normal??? My doctor said I was fine a few weeks ago, but I thought your stomach was supppose to get really hard.

I remember that with my first, once I felt him move, it never stopped. This one, however, I feel it only a couple of times a day, and that's it.

Has anyone else had this happen? I mean, as it is, this pregnancy is already the polar opposite of my first pregnancy.

my fiance has been away for awhile and when he got home the first thing we did was "made love". Now my mother is telling me that since he was away for such a while and doesn't do drugs or have caffeine and he ate really healthy. then now he is really fertile. Is this true and could i be pregnant. I ALREADY have alot of exotic piercings. I did not have them with my son 7 years ago so I'm not sure if I need to take them out or not. The doctor has seen them and has NOT told me to remove them. I know I will have to remove the ones in my nips if I choose to breastfeed. Its the one in my clit I'm not so sure about. I see no reason to take it out until I go into labor. For anyone with piercings, did you take them out during pregnancy?

This is a SERIOUS QUESTION I'm not looking for any perverted answers.

I am probably about 2 months preg, and about a month ago, before I took any preg tests (I thought I just had the flu) I took 2 hot baths. How common is it to lose a baby to a hot bath? What else could happen to him/her? Brain damage? Am I just paranoid?
Going to obgyn tomorrow, so I will ask him same thing. I feel like a dork, but I just gotta ask.

I called my grandma on Christmas day to tell her that my husband and I are expecting our first baby after 5 years of marriage, and this will be her first great grandchild. Before I could tell her she announced that my 21 year old cousin is 6 weeks pregnant by her boyfriend of a year.

I felt crushed and I let her know she will have two great grand children now. My uncle is upset with my cousin since it was a “surprise” but now the rest of the family is even more excited because they got engaged at Christmas too.

I didn’t want the spotlight, but my grandma lives out of state and I just got a “Congrats, I’ll tell everyone for you” like my baby news means nothing now. I am happy for my cousin and I really hope the baby gives her more direction in her life as she refuses to work, drinks excessively and parties a lot.

I guess I just thought the family would be happy for me giving my situation (married, stable, mature) and my baby was 100% planned and wanted.

Am I selfish?
