Are sore throat, coughing, stuffy nose signs of a regular cold or is it more likely that it's just because of the pregnancy?
My wife is 9 weeks pregnant and she has the above symptoms but no fever or aches. Is this normal pregnancy symptoms?

THanks guys for answering. But that's the thing, I want to take her to a Dr but we don't have any insurance and we are currently waiting for approval from AIM http://www.aim.ca.gov/english/qualify.html with our low-income insurance.
We were told at the public clinic that it's OK for to take Robotissun DM (spell?) and she took half of the normal dosage yesterday. I'm going nuts with worry.

Tylenol Cold and the Robitussin that the clinic told you. She just has a cold. Those were the only things that my ob/gyn would let me take for anything in the cold category. Dont worry shell be fine. I had the flu around 9 weeks and I now have a healthy 2 1/2 yr old. Just get her some of the over the counter stuff recommended by the doctor. Since it sounds like just a cold the doctor wouldnt give her anything but over the counter stuff for it anyway. Just relax and congrats.

You ahve to remember that while your wife is pregnant, her immune system is real weak. it sounds like a common cold, Robitussin is usaully okay to take while pregnant, but don't give it to her intil she or you call her Doc.
And there is really no such thing as "normal" pregnancy symptoms, but the typical ones are cravings, morning sicknes(but not alway during the morning, sometimes lasting a few months or through the entire pregnancy). She might get extrememly tired, massive mood swings, and bursts of uncontrollable crying for apparently no reason.
Good luck and congratualtions

I got a little bit of a cold when I first was pregnant too. Its normal especially if she has no aches or pains. Hormones are wacky and everything else in a woman's body is too when they are pregnant. Just talk to the doctor and find out what kind of medicine she is allowed to take for it.

Sounds like she has a cold. Talk to her doctor and find out what she can take for it as a lot over the counter medicines are not suitable for pregnant women.

No. Not pregnancy symptoms. There are some things she can take for the runny nose but better check with her OB doctor first.

No, she has a cold. My dr told that if you get the contry time lemonade powder (regualar or pink) and put it in the mug with water and zap it in the microwave, that it would help with the sore throat. And it works! Get a humidifier too.

It *might* be pregnancy rhinitis, and she should talk to her OB to find out what she can take. I got a horrible head & chest cold when I was pregnant and my doc gave me cough syrup w/ codeine. But before she takes ANY medicine, she NEEDS to consult w/ her OB to find out what's safe to take!!
