This is my first pregnancy. I had a large stomach and lower abdomen before I got pregnant. My stomach/abdomen is still not really hard. Is this normal??? My doctor said I was fine a few weeks ago, but I thought your stomach was supppose to get really hard.

It will.... mine was still soft even up to the 8th month with my first child, even though I didn't have a belly before getting pregnant. It didn't get really hard until I was almost ready to give birth.

Don't worry! When something is wrong, your body will send you signals. Sometimes you won't even know what exactly is wrong, but you just feel like something is not right. Listen to those signals... if you don't have them, you should be fine!

If you're heavier it will take time for the uterus to kinda "push" to the surface. Plus, even all through my first pregnancy...sometimes it would be hard and sometimes not...it was contracting and would switch moods lol. My daughter is fine! My belly is SUPER hard now and I am only 20 weeks, so the way this pregnancy is! My friend was joking feeling my belly and she felt how hard it was and she said hers never got like that (her baby is about 4 months old now). She is rather thin too! Everyone is different, relax!!

I am 19 weeks also and do not have a firm stomache yet either. I think it gets that was as the pregnancy progresses and the baby gets bigger. I am still waiting for my waist to "pop" so I can look pregnant instead of fat! hee hee

It depends on your body type period.

I am 15 weeks along, and my stomach just started to get hard, and shows a tiny bit. (I am 5,5" and WAS a size 1 before I got pregnant) now I am lucky if I can breathe when I am wearing 3's.

I think it depends on your body's fat percentage whether or not your tummy gets hard early or later....

Hope that helps. Congrats!

I'm 20 weeks pg with my THIRD and I swear, if my husband pokes me in the belly one more time and tells me it's still mushy, I'm going to sock him!! So I had a little layer of fat before I got pg. I don't deny it. ;) Don't fret, it will harden as the baby grows! Congrats!
