I would be too, in fact I had a friend do the same dang thing. I quit when I found (son was unexpected pregnancy) out because I cared about my baby. This is just another thing that will cause rifts in friendships with conflicting views on parenting/pregnancy.

OMG yes I would be irritated. There is a movie out there. I am not sure WHERE to get your hands on it. Google it somehow. It is an ultrasound of a 7 month old baby in the womb. Everything looks fine and dandy, then the mother is asked to smoke 1/2 of a cig. With the ultrasound STILL on taping, you can see the baby go into disgress and the oxygen levels drop. (There were a lot of other stuff hooked up to the baby.) The baby then went into 1/2 like sizzures. (sp) It was so scary to watch. It has been reported that mothers who smoke who saw this video made every attempt to quit. And they did. Oh I wish I could remember the name of it. But it is out there! I saw it on the Discovery Channel I think and they were selling them. Good luck and I hope you can get through to them!

i found out i was pregnant and i stopped smoking right away, that is something your "friend" needs to do because obviously if she had complications with the first pregnancy and had a miscarriage then there is a problem there. Yes my fiance smokes, but i live in a house with 5 smokers, yet i stay away, and if your friend wants to have more kids then she needs to think about her health and her babies health, other than that, DHS needs to be called about this.

It is incredibbly frustrating, to see how others tret their bodies especially when they want to concieve, but the thing you have to rememeber is that it is her body. You can try to talk to her about how it bothers you , and that there are over the counter treatments that can help her to stop smoking if only until she has another baby. But it is good to know that she has a friend that cares about her so much. She is very lucky to have you.
Good luck

I think its child abuse to smoke while pregnant, so yes I would be annoyed. Not to mention some of us who have prayed for children truly appreciate the gift that it is and would never do something like that and feel that those who act that way are taking something preciouse way too lightly.

Like Ron White said "you can't fix stupid". Unfortunately, there is nothing you can do, and while we would all like to kick people like that in the head, we just have to let it go.
