They do fade. I have saved them with my children's memory book stuff, and they are barely noticeable now. My youngest are 7 years old and you can barely read the blue line. My oldest is 16, and it's completely faded.

I hope that answers your question!

Evaporation lines appear AFTER the prescribed number of minutes in which you are supposed to interpret the test results. In other words, the test instructions will tell you how many minutes you should wait before reading the results, usually 3 to 10 minutes or something like that, depending on the test. You are not supposed to read the results after the time has expired, so be sure to use a digital clock.

An evaporation line appears after the time has expired. So if you go get it out of the trash after 30 mins, there might be an evaporation line.

But if you see the results line develop, even if it is very very faint, and it is within the prescribed number of minutes, then congrats, you are pregnant!!!!!

Mine stayed visible but the test was nasty. The window turns yellow and they stink. I saved all of mine and I ended up throwing them away.

They stay for a while but they eventually fade away.

If it's a positive test, they will stay, but fade some...but I think you should still be able to see them.
