Relax. A normal pregnancy is anywhere from 38 to 42 weeks long. Trust your body and your baby to know when it is time. Your baby will never be any easier to take care of than s/he is right now. If labor comes on it's own when your body is ready, it will be shorter and easier.

You may not start to dilate until you are in labor. Everyone is totally different and so is every pregnancy. I know with my first I was 2cm by 32 weeks and 4 by 36 weeks and I still had him only three days before my due date. You can try walking or other mild exercise. Then there is always things like nipple stimulation and sex to help the labor process begin...but the baby will ultimatly come when the baby is ready. I read some people on here talking about how you still have some time to go and don't try anything stupid but you're considered full term at 37 weeks..I agree, don't do anything to compromise the health of yourself or your baby but well, if the baby were to come now I highly doubt it would have any sever health problems. good luck.

Diolation is only part of it, its also how effaced you are. When your doctor is poking around in there, she should be able to tell the precentage of the membrane is left from the baby's head being in possition to enter the birth canal.
I would be extremely careful with this, but I have read in "what to expect when expecting" that if your other half stimulates your nipples too much or massages your foot in a certain place, it could trigger labor contractions.
Enjoy your pregnancy as long as you can. Once the baby is out, it gets much more difficult. The little one inside you is sleeping eating and peeing with out your help. Once out, it he/she is totally dependent on you. I know its uncomfortable, I have 3 kids.

Don't hurry it. The baby will come when it's ready. You don't take your buns out of the oven before they're fully cooked, do you? When you reach 40 weeks and you're still not dialated, then we'll talk. lol

I know it's hard to wait, especially when you're so close, but not quite there yet. But you never know...you might go to the dr one day and still making no progress, then a day or two later, be welcoming your baby. Hang in there...it'll happen!

If you're not dilated, have lots of sex....orgasms help induce labor and is perfectly safe. If that's not an option, then walk alot and stimulate your nipples for like 20 min at a time.

Guess what dear you just have to deal with it, besides the longer the baby is in the oven the more time it has to gain weight and helps their lungs develop. Don't try anything stupid.
