She's 7 1/2 months, and I'd like to get her used to a sippy cup. Is it ok to give her tap water, or should it be boiled first.

I have a 6 wk old daughter that has developed an acne-like rash on her face. It's tiny bumps all over and they are surrounded by a red spot. It's blotchy all over. I think that my son had it as a baby, but i can't remember what the dr told me to do. I have some Protopic, a perscription for excema, that i think could help. My son had a bit of excema as a baby but grew out of it. any thoughts on the perscription or other things that could help her little face.

Sorry, I'm from England and we obviously don't have them. This has always intrigued me.

Is it when you "show" off a new baby? I assume it's not a "shower" like you would have in the morning! When I first saw the phrase, I did have to stop and think about the pronounciation!!

My 7 month old still doesn't sleep through the night. She shares a room with her sister (2.5 years old), so I don't want her to wake her up if she cries. My baby is also pretty stubborn if you leave her to cry herself to sleep. Any ideas? Thanks for the help!

Will my daughter (and for that matter all newborns) use their rooting reflex even if they are not hungry?

I am breastfeeding and my 3 week old has been eating LITERALLY every 20-30 minutes since yesterday (though thank goodness she slept during the night). But she is rooting constantly and the only thing that appeases her is to be eating!!

Could it be a growth spurt? I don't know if they have them at 3 weeks of age. My milk supply seems to be fine. I am adamant about not supplementing, but I am drained, literally!

does she have a cheek for asking as I would have given it to her for free if I was selling it. Or is it me being silly.

My baby is 10 1/2 weeks old and is already standing on his own (while holding on to something and with me right there) I was told last night by a family friend that it can hurt his joints if he walks too young. Does anyone know if there is any validity to this claim?

I just had my first child on the 31st. I live with my babys father and his grandma, My childs great grandma & she wont stop telling me what to do. She complains because i breastfeed and she cant feed the baby even though i pump milk and EVERYONE else has fed her, she doesnt even want to touch the bottle the milk is in. She keeps telling me to give the baby water and i dont want her to have water! She keeps asking when im going to formula feed her, ask me where the baby is 24/7, when the baby is sleeping in the next room with her dad, I took her to my moms house to give her a bath, because our bathtub and sink are for lack of better terms 'unsanitary' and grandma flipped out on me for taking the baby outside of the house. I cant go to the bathroom or have dinner with out her bothering me! Isnt it supposed to be i cant use the bathroom or have dinner with out the baby needing something/ How do i tell her to shut the hell up and let me raise my child how i want to?

How can you tell if your 6 month old has strep or other throat virus? My husband has had a very bad sore throat for days now and hasn't had time to go get it checked cuz of his crazy work and school schedule, and now today our infant has been fussy and coughing a lot (doesn't sound like a cold, though) and having a hard time sleeping unless we give her tylenol.
Would it be serious enough to take her to a doctor to be checked?

i started her on solids at 3 months. is that ok or will it hurt her and does that mean i am a bad mother? she seems to be doing fine. she was eating 6 oz every 3 hours and i asked my doctor if i was over feeding her and they said no. and now since i started her on the solids she has eaten ledd formuls. when she wakes up she gets a bottle then inbetween 1 and 3 she gets a jar of food and a bottle then 7 hrs later she gets an bottle then every 3-3.5 hrs she gets a bottle. is that ok????

My baby is 2 1/2 months old and has always breastfed well. Now she feeds well for a few minutes and then gets very fussy and squirms a lot at the breast. I can manually express milk from the nipple, so I know there is a milk supply, but she acts as if she is not getting any milk, or doesn't want any more - but is still acting hungry afterwards. What do I do?
