I would never allow anyone to give my child more than one shot at a time. You just don't know what all that stuff is doing to them but this is not my child.

Also my mom always told me to never get something that is brand new, wait a year or two just to be on the safe side.

I know the medical profession will say it's safe and you should but poo to them. They are the ones jabbing our kids and causing reactions that don't need to be.

Go with what you think is right and further more, there should be a record of what she has and has not had somewhere. We had little record books when the kids in our family got theirs.

Our twins were born 14 weeks early and had to have 3 seperate pcv jabs over 3 months.
We had it all checked out with the consultant and the pcv can be given alone although they usually give at the same time as another set of jabs.
Our babies had no reaction or after effects from the pcv.

I was speaking to my health visitor about it, she said it was a combination jab, and that it has been out in America for 7 years.

She gave me the links below to look at:

www.hpa.org - Health Protection Agency

www.doh.gov.uk

The vaccination is called pneumococcal and the vaccine is called prevenar.

I too am a bit worried about all the jabs my daughter gets, you just don't know what to do for the best. Hope this is of some use any how.

My son has to go for the same jab. You should have received the information booklet in the post. New babies have to get it along with their other jabs as my 11 week old has to get it along with her second lot of jabs. But as the jab is only new out they have to immunise children who have already had their jabs, but not the new one. So its not the same as the other ones she has had they just need to give it to her because it wasnt available when she had her lot of jabs. Nothing to worry about.

The one and only person who is really able to answer this question for you is your daughter's pediatrician. Not only will the pediatrician know exactly what your daughter has already gotten, but will also know the correct schedule of what she should get when. I would say call the pediatrician and ask.
