She's 7 1/2 months, and I'd like to get her used to a sippy cup. Is it ok to give her tap water, or should it be boiled first.

The doctor will tell you that tap water is fine for 1 year old. Reason being is that the flouride is good for their teeth and bones. There should be no reason why tap water isn't ok. There are mothers out there who never even used drinking water or nursery water for their newborn. Those babies are just fine.

the doctor told me babies can drink tap water starting at age 4 months without boiling. I use bottled water, the only thing is if you buy bottled water, dont get distiled water. Apparently distiled water for babies is not good, it has no minerals.

use a water filter . brita makes a pitcher that you fill with tap water. it has a filter too. you dont need to boil water unless you live in an area that has bad water. i never boiled my sons water. not even when he was a newborn i just used a pitcher with a filter. the brita one.

IF YOU ARE GOING TO GIVE HER WATER FROM YOUR HOME FAUCET, YES BOIL IT FIRST. I FIND IT BEST TO BUY THE WATER BECAUSE SOME DAYS IT IS SO MUCH JUNK IN THAT TAP WATER.

I wouldn't drink tap water myself, so I certainly wouldn't want to give it to a baby. We have Culligan delivered every month and I love it!

better boil the water to get rid of water-borne bacterias. you have to remember....babies are more prone to illnesses because their bodily response to bacterias are not that strong yet. better be safe than sorry..!
