Yes some people have it more than others but we all lose some hair up until 1-1 1/2 years after giving birth. Don't sweat it, but if you're worried then talk to your doctor about it. I think it's normal and mine is still coming out some 10 months after giving birth. My friend had a LOT come out for the first 9 months after giving birth and it's just starting to lessen up. Good luck and congrats!

It's quite normal to lose hair. On the average, the human looses a little over 100 hairs a day through natural shedding. That isn't counting what we rip out by the roots trying to brush and comb it.
To 9inches. With a name like that I'm hoping you're male and wondering just how you'd know about hair loss concerning breast feeding. And why all of the "Hons" in your answer, it got redundant after the second one.

It's because when you're pregnant and breast feeding, your body is too busy producing hormones and stuff for the baby that is doesn't produce the hormone that makes hair fall out gradually and your nails break. (Did you notice that your nails never broke and there wasn't really any hair in the shower when you washed it?) When you stop breastfeeding those hormones kick back in again and you lose it all at once and those damn nails start breaking again!

Hi
This may sound backwards, But the prenatal pills you took during your pregnancy--start back on them for at least six months. The nutrients you get from those pills can help you hair grow. My hair grew like crazy once I did that. Make sure that you are not stressing out, because this can cause loss of hair as well as weaken your immune system. I know from experience.

Some hair, you are lucky, mine fell out in clumps. I went from having thick hair to thin within a month, not only did it loose thickness but also receded at the temples which took 3 years to grow back, even up to six years after having my son I had tufty hair. Oh ain't hormones great....

Yes, and don't forget that those prenatal vitamins help to boost everything for the positive in our bodies. Our hair thickens, grows faster, etc. Also, hormones play a big part in the hair loss after we give birth.

this happened for me and my son at around 6 mos and his pediatrician said this was normal. i started weaning at that time too so i don't know if the hair loss was in relation to his age or the weaning.

Yes, but it wasn't when weaning my daughter, it just happened- all because of those annoying hormones and the tricks they play on the body.
It's all normal, don't stress about it!
