I need twin names for a boy and girl. I want them to be alike or sound alike. Something like Jack and Jill (but not that). I like the name Mandy but I need a boy name that sounds like it or something. If not Mandy then give me some good names.

It can take a long time to bounce her to sleep during naps, bedtime and if she wakes up without falling asleep during the night. I sleep in the bed with her so I am longing for 1. a goodnight's sleep. 2. to sleep in my own bed 3. for her to fall asleep on her own. I purchased Healthy Sleep Habits Happy Baby but I am afraid to implement if since now I do get at least some sleep. Has Dr. Weissbluth's book worked for anyone else? I have the 2005 edition.
Extra Info: she possibly had reflux in the beginning, was colicky (still has her days), gassy

Oh, and they ain't crazy huh? This woman took her sick infant who was under a nephrologists care for a rare congenital kidney disorder and went to some alternative, LLL reccomended "health" care provider. The child is critically ILL. The doctors thankfully contacted CPS and got the baby taken from the mother and put back on lifesaving kidney therapies and medicines. This woman was convinced by LLL that her breastmilk alone was gonna cure her ill son. Insanity at it's finest.

I donated milk to my sick nephew who was born shortly after my daughter was born because his mother's milk didn't come in ,he had NEC, my milk didn't cure him. The neonatologists, round the clock hospital care, nutramigen, and the meds they put him on CURED him. Now he's a healthy 5 month old boy.

This woman is a sterling mother.

I now give him 5 tbsp mixed with formula, is 6-7 too much for him. What is the estimated amount at this time? He wakes up early acting like hes starving for a bottle.

I asked a similar question last month and got him from 4 times a nite to 2 can I get him down to 1 maybe even none. Without the cry it out method because I refuse to do that. I feed him 3 tbsps of cereal right before his bath and then it's bedtime at 8. He is up at 5 but he gets really crabby if we keep him up after 8. We have tried.

Our extended and immediate family are going to Schlitterbahn (a waterpark in Texas), and I would like to go and take the baby, but am concerned that it may be too hot for her. What do you guys think? Or do you have any suggestions if we decide to go?

My husband and I have to care for our daughter in shifts because she is demanding and intense. She is very healthy and strong, (going on 8 months, never been sick, born 8.7 healthy as a horse) And yes, breast SS, SHE DID GET BOOB JUICE FOR 6 MONTHS. Anyways, ever since she's been 4-5 months old, she has been fussy and cantankerous no matter what. We feed her, play with her, ensure she is dry and fresh, wipe her down or wash her throughout the day (she crawls and gets messy) and spoil her with every baby gadget known to man. Then we love on her some more. What more can we do? Her sleep times are our cherished moments of peace and time for ourselves. My son slams his door when she's awake and zones out on on PSP so he doesn't have to hear her non stop whining, or goes outside to play with his buddies. She feels like more of a burden than a part of the family. How can we get her to calm down? Doc says she is not colicky, and she certainly has not missed any meal...22.2lbs and 29 in long.

I normally shop Old Navy, Shopko, Wal-Mart, Target, and Kmart; however, they don't have too much out yet as far as fall/winter clothing. I was hoping to buy some now while I have a little extra money that I didn't spend on a summer vacation.

What do you think about mercury being in a preservative that is added to a vaccine that is given to your child? My son has had a cough for the past 2 months. It isn't croupy, and it hasn't turned into a cold or anything. Sometimes he wakes up out of his sleep just to cough. He also coughs more when he has been crying. He did get whooping cough at 2 months (right before he got the vaccine) so I am wondering if this is the cause, or he just has a plain old irritant that is making him cough. Does anyone elses baby cough like this?

I have been making my own insect repellent and although it works ok, it lasts only about 30 minutes. I don't want to put DEET on my baby (or older children). Right now I am using lemon balm and lavender essential oils in a base of grapeseed oil (about 7-10 drops of each EO). Lemon balm is citronella, by the way.
Does anyone have a better recipe or even a store bought product that is DEET free?

Hi Everyone. I know this is a complicated question, but I would really like your advice. I want to make sure my house doesn't fall apart once I have a newborn. I can't hire help, my husband will be working from day one, the grandmas have full-time jobs, so it's all up to me. Were you able to keep your house up (i.e. keeping it clean, doing laundry, cooking meals, etc.)? How did you manage? Any tips?
