First of all, yes, see your doctor! And if they haven't been helpful up until this point, seek a second opinion. It almost sounds like it could be asthma??? I don't want to freak you out, but bring this up to a doctor. A cough is pretty common in people with mild asthma. If he reacted to a vaccine in the past it may mean he has a sensitive system and prone to allergic reactions... which is basically what asthma is in most cases.

My step-son coughs like that. It started when he was around 6 months. Doc said it's asthma, and put him on the nebulizer and it actually work. Now that he is going to be 5 they can give him an oral syrup for it. Go talk to your doctor, I think thats what could be wrong but I'm not an expert.

It could be a number of things, could be something as simple as an allergy. If you leave windows open in your house try to close them and see if there is any change. Sometimes there are irritants in the air that irritate the lungs. I would make an appointment with the doctor though.

You need to bring him to his Dr.
coughing while sleeping without any upper respiratory symptoms could be a sign of Asthma.. I would definitely take him in to get re checked.. It could just be something left over from the whooping cough but is always best to get it rechecked!!!

My son coughs all the time. The doctor said he gets a dry throat and coughs. I am sure it is nothing to worry about, if it is not making him mad. Bring him into the doc if you are worried.

My son did that for the first 2 months of his life.. Turned out he had RSV (Respatory S..... Virus) sorry, cant remember that S word... it is very serious in infants... have your dr test for this... it is done by a simple nose swabbing unless they changed the test... it can also cause asthma if lefted untreated for too long... PLEASE... TAKE THEM TO THE DR..
