Our extended and immediate family are going to Schlitterbahn (a waterpark in Texas), and I would like to go and take the baby, but am concerned that it may be too hot for her. What do you guys think? Or do you have any suggestions if we decide to go?

You're talking about the one in South Padre Island right? I wouldn't go there anyway, it looked very runned down. I think your whole family including the 2 month old would have a much better time at the beach which is right behind Schlitterbahn. If you do go though, take lots of sunscreen for the little kiddo and bug spray as well. The mosquitoes are terrible this time of year down there (we were just there in June). Have a good time anyhow!

You really shouldn't have a baby under 6 months in direct sunlight for extended periods of time. Baby's aren't supposed to wear sunblock till 6 months either so I wouldn't bring her unless you can carry an umberlla everywher you go and keep her covered in shade at all times.

To be honest, I wouldn't because babies at this age their skin is so super sensitive. Putting sunblock is not good either because they are so young still and I believe they have to be older. I know it's hard to stay home when everyone is out and about having fun, but don't worry your baby and you will have many more opportunities to go to waterparks.

make sure he has a stroller with a shade, cover him in sunblock, put a hat on him and keep him well hydrated, also for every 2 hour you spend out side spend a half hour in a closed area, food court or something, as long as he is hydrated and protected from sun he should be okay. if it gets too hot for you Then it is too hot for him and time to go. good luck and have fun

NO! The danger of dying from the germs in waterparks is very real. Your child is far to young to be at such risk.

I don´t think it´s a good idea. You are gonna have to be applying and reapplying sunscreen, keeping her in the shade, making sure she´s not thirsty, etc. I think she´s too young for that, just my two cents, though :)

I would not take her...if you do keep her in the shade try to rotate positions so she doesn't get too hot and sweaty in one.

if you do, keep her out of the sun. you shouldn't use sunblock (even baby's) until six months old. maybe you could get a sitter?
