What we did for our son's party was invite aunts, uncles, and grandparents. Also, we invited a few of our best friends. All in all it was probably 15 adults and 10 kids. We cooked outside, did the cake outside. Hosed off the kids. All the kids played outside and there was not much of a mess to clean up inside. All kids that I know love playing in water, either a sprinkler or kiddie pool. Have fun and don't stress yourself out over this. This one is for you, he won't remember, after this, he will have alot of ideas to help you out!

For my daughter first birthday we rented a jumper and had a clown. We had it at a park close to the playground that way the parents could keep a close eye on the bigger kids. The clown seemed to have kept all the little ones intertained. I had a friend do face painting and we took turns letting the small kids and the bigger kids jump in the jumper.Good Luck!

Does your son like a character like Barney or Batman or power rangers? Rent a costume for the day and get some great pictures. Serve finger foods ie chicken nuggets and make the party short

My son just turned one the end of May. I had a jungle/safari theme and decorated accordinly. I hired a balloon animal maker and face painter. It was fun and for food I did pizza and a soft pretzel tray. then just chips and drinks. Nice and simple and i was able to hold it in my backyard with a tent so lots of people could come. For any older kids you could look into renting a moonbounce. even your little one year old could go in with you.

My little girl just turned one. Everyone else (except another little girl could walk). We decided to have them all sit down together and play pass-the-parcel whilst listening to the wiggles which they all enjoyed. We also blew up many balloons for the youngsters to play along in.
Good luck with party

From experience let me tell you KEEP IT SIMPLE! Just blow up ballons, serve some cake and ice cream open gifts and send the little buggers home so you can get some rest. You child won't remember it anyway, save that energy for when he wants the full out super party!
