isnt it annoying how whenever you ask a serious question they act stupid and awnser with something either unrealivant or immature? It really bugs me.. !

My mom is totally against me "partying".. I am 17 years old and feel like i should be able to go out and so stuff.. My cerfew is at 12:00!! I am a good student and on the cheer team.. shouldnt i have some more privalages?? I want to stay out till atleast 2 on saturdays, but my mom says that 12 is the latest its so unfair! Or am i being un rational?

recently a girl 13 y.o. was recovered as a runaway in springfield, mo. it has been well established by authourities and witness accounts that the mother of this child had knowledge of her where abouts for several weeks and that she had been in the company of a man more than twice her age who her and her mother had convinced she was in fact 20 y.o. should this man or the mother and daughter be held accountable?

- when is the right time to start shopping on your own?
- what should a 13 year old have as a monthly allowence?
- is highliting your hair 1 time bad?
- is using the anorexic method bad if u want to lose weight? but then going back to the normal diet after losing the weight?
- is 13 a good age to start going to stores like american eagle, hollister, abercrombie and fitch?
- are you supposed to shave on your arms?

My daughter is nine and going through early puberty (has breasts, body hair, body odor, has gotten some pimples). She has not started her period *yet* but I know it's got to be coming soon. I have no idea how to approach the subject with her. She's only nine and I am not sure she can handle the emotional part or the responsibility of taking care of herself....She's a tomboy and I still have to literally nag her just to brush her teeth and wash her hands!

I know there are tons of sources ONLINE for PARENTS regarding early puberty and I've read some. What I am looking for are resources for girls - books or movies preferred, that might help us deal with this. I just don't know how to explain to a 9 year old that she may be bleeding soon, why, what it means, and how important it is to keep herself clean/change pads....that sort of thing.

Help :-) This is a serious issue to parents...please no perverts or jerky answers, *please*!!!

I often give other people's kids rides to activities...particularly church activities. And as I don't mind listening to their music...i do mind when they are wearing headphones and I don't know what they are listening to. I feel it is my responisbility as an adult and parent to not let them listen to music that is inappropriate for their age.

And, not to mention that when the headphones go on, they separate themselves from the rest of the group.

I feel like it is important to help guide your children and their friends to make good decisions, and to do that you need to have communication.

Has anyone else encountered this and what ways do you resolve this? Have you heard of any studies that are focused on this issue?

My mom is 46 years old, and I am 27, she has been on drugs for 15 years and it has affected my life as a child but now I have kids and I don't want them to see the things that I have seen. Now, she is okay as a grandparent, but my kids are getting older and they are starting to notice things that she do. I only let them see her every now and then . Shes very rude-mean and likes to get her own way and she lives with her boyfriend and her mom(my aunt)does'nt care and she does anything she wants and gets away with it but she started to have sex at the age of 12 and now shes pregnant and she only thinks about herself like recently her and her boyfriend went and got $600 photo shoot pictures and it really bothers me cause I'm a bit jelouse that she can get away with so much crap and I cant!

I'm going to a sleepover party soon, and the friend's house it's going to be at has a pool. I've already told her that I'm going and I'm moving soon, so I definetly want to go to the sleepover. But it's right in the middle of my period and I don't feel comfortable wearing tampons. ok my parents have always treeted my older brother better than me. but for christmas this year they went to far. my older brother (19) got a car ($800) and I (17) got $50. i asked for some money to pay for a skiing trip in in a few weeks, and the trip costs $200. people have told me that i should not be jellous of my brother, but my parents spent so much on him and only gave me 1/4 of what i need for the trip. I know that I will not get a car when I am 19, my parents have as good as told me that. I look on Y!A and I'm seeing questions about sex from kids that seem way too young: dating at 12, no steady boyfriend at 13, sex at 11......that's right, 11!!!! What has happened? Are these kids really growing up faster, or are we not shielding them properly as adults? Most studies show that people's brains aren't even fully developed at these ages, so what is happening?

Jeez, it is so hard to find a girl who likes and/or plays baseball, since baseball isn't the coolest thing now (it's football). It's also real tricky to find girls into math. Also ones into rhythm games (DDR, BeatMania, you know, that good stuff).

All I see are girls that are 80% slutty, and they care about themselves and their idiot friends.

They're also mean.
