The mother and the man should both be held accountable. Starting with the mother. The man may have some sort of defense. But even in this day and age I think anyone with half a brain should be able to tell the difference between a 13 and 20 year old.

I think both adults in This should be held accountable..The thirteen year old is not mature enough to make the decision and there are probably other things to contribute to the scenario.Has the mother tried to pawn her daughter off before and what was the mother hoping for to black mail the gentle man if the authority's never found out. There was a case like that in mass not to long ago.And in the end it ended up being the mother was pushing her twelve year old daughter to be with these older men and getting money from them.

The mother and the daughter both are guilty of deception, but I think that the minor is not held accountable because of her age. The man should not have easily confused a 13 year-old girl with a 20 year-old woman, but despite that, she is still a minor and he is guilty of statutory rape.
But if she is a runaway, does that change anything? Is she immancipated? If so, does it matter?

The mother has essentially sold her daughter into prostitution. Yes that is a felony. Not sure about the man - if he really believed the girl was 20, and this was confirmed by the mother, I am not certain that this would be prosecutable. Hard to believe, tho, that anyone would think a 13 year old was really 20.

Unfortunately for the man, he's going to have some penalties. The mother should be prosecuted for endangerment. I'm still perplexed that they could "convince" the man that a 13 yr old was 20. There's way too much to disprove that, as she would still look like a child.

Both of the adults should be held accountable. And the mother should have the child taken away from her for letting her get involved in that type of situation in the first place. I am the mother of a daughter that is almost 13 and there is no way in HE** that I would alow someone almost twice her age be w/ her. They are sick, sick people...they should both goto jail.

If the mother allowed it I think the mother should be held accountable. The daughter should be taught about things like that. The men should be held accountable too. If they are twice her age they should know better! Poor little girl!

Both should be held accountable. The mother for child endangerment, abuse and neglect and the man for rape of a child, sexual assault, contributing to the delinquency of a minor, and a number of other charges. Any grown up in their right mind can tell the difference between a 13 year old and a 20 year old.

okay yall may give me thumbs down, but i dont think the man is completely at fault, when i was 12, i had a HARD time getting men to believe i wasnt older. they all swore on the bible they thought i was 20 so dont say he should be able to tell. alot of girls are very developed. and i was very mature (not a giggly little girl) anyway. if they mother is letttnig her do it and making the man think shes 20 and not correcting it. punish her. the only thing the man did was be a man with hormones. and no im not a man. im a woman (mother). just this is how i feel about this.
