Pregnancy & Parenting - 2 September 2007

My 2 years old daughter can’t speak properly like her same age toddlers, she can pronounce many difficult words, but she have no meaningful words. I have consulted many doctors including speech and language pathologist, psychoanalyst, psychologist, ENT, etc. But no one is seeing any problem to her. She is slightly hyperactive in nature, she use to run from one room to another for a long time but she use to spend a long time also watching colourful books. She use to eat her meals sitting on a chair. She loves listening her favourite songs repeatedly but can’t express any of her feelings or needs verbally or she can’t point things out. The only thing she use to do is crying. She starts crying when she is hungry, she does the same thing when she wants to listen a song once more. This is the situation I’m totally confused about what to do. Please help. Regards…..

My son just turned 2 1/2 and will not use the potty. I bought him a potty chair and he hated it. I went and bought a Sponge Bob (his favorite) seat that goes on the toilet and he hates it too. He will set on it but only with his clothes on. He screams like he is dying= and falls to the floor limp. I have tried everything: praise, rewards, but nothing works. Please help, I am afraid we are going to go from LUVS to Depends. I am all out of answers. Thanks!!

I'm 17 years old and I haven't had my regular periods since I started having sex with my boyfriend. Its september now and I've had 2 very light periods this whole year. I took pregnancy tests they all came out negative, I use contraception but I dont't know what is wrong. I told myself not to pay attention but lately its gotten to the point where it really hurts to have sex. I havent been to stressed or have gained or lost weight. I want to have an idea of whats wrong with me before I go to the doctors this week.

My 2 mnth old son has been very fussy lately and me and my husband have no idea why. Last night we looked at his eyes and his left one is noticibly (sp) huge compared to the right eye. Is this anything i should be worried about? I did bring it up to my doctor and he said it may be dry skin but he was not sure what it was.

Lots of people seem to like Elena as a name but is it popular.
I also have the name Alis,Maisie and Lani.Her middle name is defintly Isabel/Isobel how ever you want to spell it.With the boys we were totally decided,well not totally true until Felix was a day old and a Dr wanted a name for him Dh wasnt at hospital at time so it came upon my shoulders.It was either Felix or Reuben,both names are cool!But he suits Felix ever last bit!

My 5-year old son wants to take ballet dancing with his sister. I tried to steer him towards the tap/jazz end of the class, but he insists he wants to be a ballerina. I myself have no problems with this, but am still concerned. At some point, someone is going to tease him and I'm guessing it will probably even be his own Grandfather. As much as I want him to follow his dream, I also don't want him to be totally crushed and to have to endure being ridiculed. What do I do??

i have been trying to get pegnant for one month.I have just found out i am but. . . I came of the pill just over a month ago and i had one period on the 28th July till 31st and then i had another on the 6th August till the 9th. Now i dont no which date to to go to see how far i am and when i am due.Which date would you go by ?
When would you go the doctors straight away or leave it a bit ? With my other two children i went as soon as i new but feel like i should leave it for abit what do you think ?

My due date for my baby was yesterday and theres still no sign! I know most babies dont come on time but im really fed up now! I went for a long walk yesterday, had a curry. sex and some castor oil and still nothing!! Wasnt keen on taking the castor oil at 1st bt im that fed up and heard from a lot of people that it works but it hasnt!!! How much of it do you take? I took 2 tablespoons yesterday and today. Also im due to see midwife on tues if i havent had him, can i ask for a sweep or is it up to her to decide??

My brother and his wife live in London so they waited to name the baby before they could get a hold of me. My nephew was born 7 lbs. 8 oz. at 5:30 a.m. on September 1st. I decided to name him Adam Alexander, so his full name will be Adam Alexander Chapin. In a week the Chapin family will be home in California and I will get to hold Adam for the first time! The names Adam Alexander Together mean Protector Of The Earth, which is exactly what Adam should be. Thank you for all your help!

I have started to toilet train my son, and the problem is, he doesn't seem to want to stop what he's doing to go. If I ask him if he needs a wee, he says 'not yet' and then 2 minutes later does it in his pants. It isn't that he cant use the loo - he can do a wee on the toilet fine if he wants to, and when we first started he asked when he needed to. But now it seems he just can't be bothered, it's easier to carry on whatever he's doing and wee where he sits!

I don't know where to go from here - it's no use getting him to clean his pants, he loves cleaning lol. I make a big fuss when he does go on the loo, and I'm trying not to get angry when he doesn't bother. Any tips, please?
