there are so many to choose from so here are some hints I found useful when naming both of my children.

Don't pick names that start with the same letter as either you or your partner, otherwise you end up with two A Smiths, or P Jones etc.

Try not to pick names that end with same letter your surname starts with, as they can run on a bit.
Fred Davis, Jane New etc

Pick names that will stand the test of time, and that your child won't be embarassed by. Chardonnay, Kylie, Neo etc, will date very quickly.

If you like a name, don't be tempted to try and change the spelling to something "original", your child will spend the rest of their life spelling their name to people, or having to correct it.
(sumah=summer, Jaymie = Jamie etc).

Make sure the name is definitely a boys name or a girls names, some unisex names although nice, can cause confusion. Taylor, Bayleigh etc.

try the link to the following website, they have a baby names board, and a searchable list.
