a low heel that is thick... walking on tall or thin heels could be disasterous

A 14yr old girl is still a young lady. The type of heels should be young and sophisticated compare how some heels could look to grown for a 14yr old girl. Make sure the heel is a bit thick (heels) make sure they don't fall or hurt themeselves. The Height on the heels should not be more then 1inches. Every parent is different and have there own opinion....

I say a small heel or a wedge also, I would not let a 14 yr old wear a medium heel.

i don't think heels are appropriate for this age unless it is for a formal event. the highest i would go at this age for developmental and safety issues is a 2 1/2" heel. the best option would actually be a wedge heel because it keeps the entire sole of the shoe on the ground instead of just the ball of the foot and a thin heel.

your daughter is still growing and high heels have been shown to be very damaging to a woman's balance (falls, twists, breaks), ankle strength, achilles tendon, toes, knees, hips, and back. keep the heel short and conservative. she has plenty of time in the future to prance around on wobbly ankles. this should be easy since the kitten heel is very popular.

some 2- 2 1/2" heels/wedges:

I think kids should be kids. Teenagers are always trying to grow up too fast, especially girls. They want to wear make up, have bigger boobs, wear racy clothing. I have 12 year old. She is allowed to wear lip gloss and nail polish. No obvious make up. Now in regards to clothing...no tight jeans, pants, shorts or tops. No cleavage tops. No short shorts. She has to always wear a slip when she wears a skirt or dress. For hell height she is only allowed 1/2" to 1". Once she is 16 then I will let her wear a slightly taller heel.

I would stick with a small to medium heel or a chunky wedge.

Make sure she can walk in them in the store and practices at home before ever leaving the house with them on.

wedges are cool and appropriate unless she is going to her high school formal let her where a sophistocated shoe i guess the height doesnt matter with sophistication.
