I've been sick the last few mornings, for perhaps a week now. I don't want to worry my boyfriend, but I'm beginning to seriously wonder if I'm pregnant. I can't afford to buy a pregnancy test...is there some way of finding out whether I am or not without an actual test?

I have a baby boy who is 4 days old. He always seems to cry even when nothing is wrong with him. We try everything and the only thing he wants is to be carried or have some type of body contact. He's fine while in our arms and as soon as we put him down he starts crying. I haven't gotten any sleep and I'm trying to recover from a c-section. I'm completely drained. How can I get him to stop crying all the time. Any tips?

My daughter will NOT pick up toys. She is in her room crying now, with a pile of blocks next to the basket in which they belong, refusing to put them in. I've promised to read a book and I've promised a popsicle when she finishes. Instead she keeps crying pitifully and coming out of her room...until I shoo her back in with instructions again to pick up the blocks. It is always a major ordeal getting her to pick up anything! I always give her small, specific tasks but she will cry and moan for up to an hour before she finally breaks down and does it. Her poor sister is so good about picking up...they share a room, and my older daughter and I will clean up everything in the time it takes her to put away just the blocks...or dolls... or kitchen toys...etc. What can I do to teach her better picking up skills? If I make it a game and do it with her, will she learn to be dependent on someone always helping instead of her working independently? She's 3 1/2 and I know she's old enough

Should it be fair if a woman from lets say Asia gets pregnant there boards a plane for America and gives birth here, should her baby be a US citizen? Even if that's has her plan all along so she wouldn't have to go back home

is it 13, when you are going through a transition from being an immature child to a mature young adult? or is it when you are in your late teens, and noone has anymore sympathy for you because, by now, you should know what you are doing?

for me, it has been going from 12 to 13 years old. I just turned 13 in April, and i am still very flustered by this whole teenager thing. it just came to me so fast and i want to go back to the way things were before.

I sit in with children reading and I notice that on the whole girls seem to do better. Although the books cover a wide range of subjects somehow miss the point with boys who then lose interest.

Hi. I've heard about adoption grants for couples trying to adopt. We've been trying to adopt though social services and we keep hitting walls. We started January of 2006, and by the time we got our paperwork done, our worker had retired. Her replacement was a joke, so a friend recomended her county worker, who's been trying to place county kids who just don't fit with what we're looking for (we want school aged/she's trying to put toddlers here...we're not set up for little kids!) There are several out of state kids that we're interested in, but the costs of this just intimadates us! The grant sites that I've looked at tell how to donate to their cause, but not how to apply to recieve one. Does anyone know how I'd go about doing this?

We've had our homestudy done since February. We're still waiting to identify a child. How long does this process usually take? We're both getting frustrated, and we want to become parents already, but this is so hard!

my neighbor's 3 yr old son has been potty trained for some time now, yet rather than use the toilet he just pees where he stands. it could in the house or in the driveway. On at least one occasion he has pooped on the kitchen floor. More recently, my husband & I were at their house having dinner on the patio & our 5 yr old son was using their bathroom and a couple of minutes later their son came out with no pants on. Her husband came out from the kitchen to tell us that the 3 yr old just peed on the kithchen floor. My neighbor then went on to say that the reason he peed on the floor is because our son was using the bathroom. Basically every time he has an "accident", she has an excuse for him.
