my wife and I have been trying to conceive for several months. She has been charting her temp. and it is now the 30th day and her temp has not gone down but she has some dark brown spotting which started about three days before her period was supposed to start.

Yes, it's from the fertilized egg implanting in your uterus, that's why it's called implantation bleeding.

If it truely is implantation bleeding, then yes, because implantation bleeding is when an embryo implants in the uterus. However, a woman can have bleeding (spotting, breakthrough bleeding, etc) without being pregnant. But the definition of implantation bleeding is the bleeding when the baby implants in your uterus....
