Pregnancy & Parenting - 28 January 2007

My partner and I have two children, one of which is 9 months old.

He sleeps in his cot and for the first 7-8 months he was wrapped tightly in a blanket and laid down. He is a good sleeper and by the morning he would still be on his back.

However in the last month or so he has begun to get stronger and is now able to turn himself over completely on his front. However this has caused problems at night as he is now eventually able to fight his way out of the blanket to expose his arms and turn himself onto his front. In fact he barley needs any arms to do this.

This we feel prsents potential problems, as we believe that sleeping on their front can be a cause of cot death.

We could take away the wrapped blanket altogether to give him freedom to turn himself over if he goes on his front but then he would take a lot longer to go to sleep and still presents the possibility of cot death.

Anyway, does anyone have any 'best practice' about how babies should sleep/cot death/tips etc.. etc.

Could i be Pregnant? ok say if i was dry humpin. he had on three pants (some tight underwear...basketball shorts...and jeans.) and i had on panties and jeans. could i have a chance of getting preg.? he didnt finger me until like 30 min b4 this happened. i pulled down his underwear and he an erect.and his underwear had a little pre*** on them(it wasnt white,kinda clear)?sorry bout all the detail ps if my period come on time (feb.6) then im not pregnant?

What kinds of things can you do to get ready for baby when you are on bedrest? I have the possibility of going on bedrest at 20 weeks for high blood pressure (I'm 17 weeks now..nearly 18)...and I know I'll run out of things to do...so I need some creative ideas to do while I'm waiting for baby.

I am 36 weeks pregnant and have been having light contractions about 5-10 minutes apart for two days. I woke up this morning and the contractions had slowed way down put I feel like someone has kicked me in the groin. It feels bruised and every time I stand up my pelvic bones hurt. I called my doctor and she said that she's never heard anyone waking up with that pain but it sounds like ligaments stretching and that usually happens when you are on your feet a lot. I have been on bedrest for a week and a half so that couldn't be why I hurt. I am on pregnancy number three and have never wxperienced this pain before. can anyone please help me figure out what this is because my midwifes expalnation doesn't make sense to me??

rite am 11weeks pregnant i have had some rib painonmy right side its like somethingo is pressing againt my rib but am not sure if it is cause that rib was bruised when a fell down a 20ft tree about 5yrs ago and bruised that rib and still get a stitch from it now and then but more concerned is that it can be uncomfortable alot and sometimes even painful and am not sure if is because of the baby or is affectin the baby i have my apt on tuesday with the midwife so i will discuiss it with her then but anybody with any experience might know what it could be or how i can sort it also i have asthma so am not sure if that can also be a cause

I am 39 weeks pregnant and I have the worst heartburn ever. I have it so bad that it causes me to throw up and I have bad sharp chest pains. My stomach sticks out like really far, I could put a teacup on it, and also, I was throwing up a lot a couple months ago, not so much now. Also, my period stopped, but my best friend says that's because I've gone vegan since last fall.

Also, there's this big, pink thing trying to squeeze out of my uterus. It's like really big.

Could I be pregnant?

okay im seven months pregnant right now and just like two days ago i wiped myself u know where n i saw a little bit of blood on the tilet paper! should i worry? there was a little bit of blood the next morning too! nothin comes out now but im just worrying about those two days. also this morning after i got out of bed my nose started bleeding too for like two minutes ...my nose has bled before i got pregnant a couple of times but i didnt really care that much but now im pregnant and im worried! i know i should ask my doctor but i dont have an appointment until like two weeks and i dont wanna wait that long! please answer my questions ...should i worry?

My daughter will be a year old Feb 20th. She has never had any health problems or weight issues and is very healthy and of normal height/weight. She didn't get a doctors appointment until a couple weeks after her birthday, so can I go ahead and start giving her whole milk before she sees the doctor for a checkup and shots and stuff? They never told me to wait or anything! Also, she takes around 24 ounces of formula right now in one day. How many ounces of whole milk should she be drinking in a day? And how often to offer it? Will I be changing to three main meal times every day with snacks, where she drinks the majority or all of her milk at the mealtimes?? And what about bedtime? Just for further information, we will be ditching the bottles as soon as we transition to whole milk. She already has dropped bottles out of 2 of her 4 formula feedings every day. Thanks for any helpful information!

I was just wondering if you are infertile, would there be signs? Are you supposed to feel when you ovulate, If you don't feel anything does that mean it's not happening? How exactly do you do the temperature taking thing to find out when you are ovulating?

Just finished with my period a day ago, however me and my boyfriend just had (unprotected)sex right before I had my period and I noticed that my stomach has gotten noticeably bigger. I haven't been eating much either so I don't know if I could still be pregnant.

I hated the whole thing. I couldn't eat pasta (and I LIVE for speghetti) and it was the hottest summer I've ever seen in my life around the thime I was pregnant. That's why I said I'd never have anymore after I gave birth to my first (and only) child.
