rib concern...?

rite am 11weeks pregnant i have had some rib painonmy right side its like somethingo is pressing againt my rib but am not sure if it is cause that rib was bruised when a fell down a 20ft tree about 5yrs ago and bruised that rib and still get a stitch from it now and then but more concerned is that it can be uncomfortable alot and sometimes even painful and am not sure if is because of the baby or is affectin the baby i have my apt on tuesday with the midwife so i will discuiss it with her then but anybody with any experience might know what it could be or how i can sort it also i have asthma so am not sure if that can also be a cause

also everyone says i might be having twins or a big child due 2 me havin a bump since after the first month i get my first scan on a week on tuesday so could that alos by why

Your baby won't reach your ribs until the 8th month of pregnancy. You need to ask your doctor what's going on.

The baby could have a foot or hand wedged up there or could have even kicked you and bruised your ribs. My daughter did this to me and I was only 5 months along when it happened not 8. She kicked me so hard she bruised my ribs on the right side. The doctor said it wouldn't heal until I gave birth and would actually get worse as the pregnancy went on because as the baby gets bigger and that weight starts pulling your belly down that will cause the ribs to be even more sore. I was fine about a week after I had her and have had no problems since or with the other two pregnancies.

I had rib pain early on in pregnancy but it was usually from gas pains and rolaids helped a lot.

i had rib pain when i was pregnant its nothing it will go away eventually. depending on how big your child is it may be kicking you or just relaxing on that side of your body.
